I know this gets asked a lot and i really have read through many threads, but I'm very confused! I was wondering if I could get some advice on how to get where we need to be!

We arrive at MCO on Tuesday and go to Cabana Bay (need a grocery stop in here)
On Friday, we check out of Cabana Bay and head to Port Canaveral for our Disney Cruise
On Monday, we need to get from Port Canaveral to a hotel (possibly Fairfield Inn near Universal) and then from the hotel to Universal, then back to the hotel in the evening
On Tuesday, we need to get from the hotel to the airport (for a 7am flight).

We thought about using Tony Hinds for part of it and uber for the rest but I'm just not sure how to make this work! If we stay at the Fairfield Inn near Universal, we can either walk or take a shuttle (or Uber if we're tired) so that would be pretty easy. What's the best way to get to and from Port Canaveral? Any ideas? Thanks!

I would rent a car. And see the total to have it the whole time and park it during the cruise vs two separate rentals.

Rent a car. You can return and it pick up cars st some port hotels. You can also pick up rental cars from the airport and well as Universal hotels . - not entirely certain of cabana bay but we returned a rental car to Royal Pacific last week (picked up rental car at airport ). As for transport to the airport - Uber or the hotel has taxis and town cars. -- (royal pacific at least not sure if others)

We used uber to/from the Port for our last cruise and it worked great, and was our least expensive option.

The only stop that's a little iffy is the grocery stop, but you could check in and then get a separate uber to the store and a separate one back.

I checked both Uber and Lyft fare calculators from Cabana Bay to Port Canaveral since that's your longest drive time and the fare estimate was $41-61 for Uber and $78-$104 for Uber XL. Lyft estimate was $52 and $88 for Lyft Plus or SUV. That's pretty good. For the grocery stop, if you choose Uber or Lyft, you can designate on the app multiple stops if you want the driver to wait. I would probably just request another ride when I was done shopping to save money on the wait time and that way you don't have to rush through the store.

Or like others have suggested rent a car. I would price both out, use the fare calculator for Lyft/Uber for all the drive segments of your trip vs. renting a car. Plus the cost of parking for a week at the port or renting separately. Personally I think renting a car would be more of a hassle especially if you have to do 2 separate rentals.

I don't like the hired car services. They are more expensive usually and you are stuck on their timetable for pick ups and grocery stops etc.

Thanks for all of the feedback! I'll have to do some pricing and see what works best

Renting a car seems like too much of a hassle when Uber/Lyft are so cheap and convenient.

I have a similar situation on my upcoming trip - I need to get from Tampa to MCO. I am planning on just taking an Uber (~$80-$100) rather than a rental car.

We're all so different.

Renting a car is so easy. I've never paid that much for a 24 hour rental. And then I get it for 24 hours. :) And the longer I have it the less it is per day!

I agree that renting a car would be easiest and probably cheapest.

That said, I bet Tony Hinds we do it. In April, we hired him to pick us up from the airport and drive us to Royal Pacific. Three days later, he picked us up from Royal Pacific and drove us to Port Canaveral from our cruise. At the end of our cruise, he picked us up in Port Canaveral and drove us to the airport. He had no issue with this and gave us one all inclusive price. He also offered to stop at a store for wine before our cruise, but we didn't need to. It all worked out really well and I was happy with the price.

In your scenario, I think Tony could do all of your routes except for Fairfield (or other hotel) to Universal. That should be a quick/cheap Uber or taxi, or maybe you could choose a hotel with a shuttle to Universal.
