Complicated Question Involving Dining Plan/Renting Points and Staying at 2 Resorts

My parents are heading down for the first week of Feb. They will be arriving at the Coronoado on Thursday 1/31 and staying until Sunday 2/3, when they will switch to renting points from a family friend at the Beach Club from Suday 2/3 through Friday 2/8.

My question is can they apply the dining plan to both of these reservations? In other words, they want the dining plan throughout the whole stay at both resorts.

Any info would help.

Yes, the dining plan is available to those staying in rented points. However, the DVC member from who they are renting needs to call Member Services and have the DDP added to their reservation. They will pay for the dining plan when the check in at BCV. Please note: ONLY the DVC owner can call, your parents cannot call to have this done.

Your parents, of course, will be checking out of one resort and into another. Thus, their credits for the first part of their stay will be on the Coronado card, and their dining credits for the second part will be on their BCV card. They need to use all of their dining credits from the Coronado portion of their stay by the last day of their CSR stay. So, since they are checking out of CSR on Sunday morning, they have until Sunday night to use those dining credits. Those credits will NOT roll over to the next resort.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Hi , I am sure that they also know that they need at least a 1 day ticket on the Coronado reservation to get the dining plan there. they can get a ticket for their full stay at Coronado and use at BC.

Just so you are clear, they will have to be two plans. The one at the Coronado Springs should have been booked when you made the reservation as it is a package. Room at rack rate, at least one day ticket for each person and the dining plan. If you used a discount for the room, you will not be able to get the DDP for CSR.

The DVC portion does not require any ticket purchase but it does require that the member who has the points, book it for your parents with Member Services. They will pay for it when they check in.

Also they are aware for 2008 the plan has changed, no tip included and no appetizer.

We are doing a similar stay next week and I was told that the credits have to be used up by your last night in the resort. You are credited per night of stay therefore the day you check out is not counted. A previous poster said it was the day you check out. Anyone know which is correct?

The credits must be used by midnight the night you check out of the resort A. Be careful to have them check at resort B to make sure your credits are still on your room key. All of ours were lost on keys when we checked into B but they were able to check into the system to see that we still had them. They had me charge the meals and snacks that I had left to resort B's room key and then they credited the amounts.
