Complicated Annual Pass Question

Alright, here's the scenario:

My mother, father and I are all DVC annual pass holders, and our passes expired in May. We ordered the renewals and received the exchange vouchers. Now, my folks are the official DVC members, I'm not, but since I live in the same household (and our drivers licenses match) and I'm immediate family, I'm eligible for the pass. When we got them the first time around, we all went to guest services together to get them.

This time, I'm going without them and will need to collect my pass then. I've got a copy of my mother's member card and her drivers license, just to prove she's the member and we all live at the same address. Should I expect any problems retrieving my pass?

Furthermore, will I be able to get my free parking with my exchange voucher, like I would with my annual pass?

Thanks!

my daughter did this in Feb without us, but I actually gave her my member card to take along with her driver lic. She had no problem. Can't answer the parking voucher as she didn't have a card.

No, shouldn't be a problem since you have photo ID with an address that matches that of the members, your parents.

As far as I know, you need the actual pass to get the free parking perk. However, if you plan to exchange the voucher at one of the parks, you can get reimbursed for that day's parking. Just bring your receipt and ask when you do the exchange.

So as it turns out, while it shouldn't have been a big deal, it was. They very nearly didn't give it to me because my mother had not physically traveled from Missouri to present herself. They had to call a supervisor who had to call a manager, none of whom were particularly nice about it. In the end, after being very sternly warned that I was Doing It Wrong, they let me give them the member number (which I offered in the first place), and gave me the pass. But there was definitely a problem.

What I don't fully understand is WHY this should be a problem. It's a renewal. If I was a member of their immediate family last year, that hasn't changed. My address is the same as theirs, and they can look that up. Or they could talk to member services. The problem, however, wasn't the information but that Mom wasn't physically there. It seems unreasonable to me to expect that a family of renewing annual passholders would always travel together for the first trip of their pass-year.

I did this with my kids in March 09, as they were traveling without me. Initially I had wanted to have the kids purchase the passes, as I had 2 single day passes to use towards the cost. After I called MS to see if this was possible, I was told it was not. I couldn't order the vouchers, as it was too close to the travel date. I had to purchase the passes over the phone and the kids had to pick up the passes at the Will Call window.
Sadly, it seems that the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. I find the best place to do any ticket things is at the MK. Guest Services seems to have the best grasp on the rules there. I was also told this at Guest Services at AK and SSR. At least somebody knows what is going on :confused3

Did you recently move perhaps? I know you said you live in MO with your parents, but your tag here states Sarasota FL...

Without the DVC Member or the Blue DVC Member Card, it probably was a red flag to them. Glad it all worked out for you..
