YAY! Time for planning another trip! I myself can not wait at all, especially to show my family FNSV and TSMM, two amazing attractions. Let's see we have 15 days until we leave (right after school on Wednesday the 8th) and there is still a ton left to do :scared1: :

Hotel: Tropicana 3 nights (10/9-10/12). We need to find lodging for our first night, but I think we are going to ask the grandparents!

Tickets: I'm set with my AP, but the rest of my family....ya, we need to get on that soon. We'll probably get them from TSA special services because my dad is a teacher! :teacher: Oooh, my mom just said that she's calling tomorrow :cool1:

Food: Since this is kinda a "spur of the moment" trip I don't think we'll be getting any PS's or anything. No Mickey's Trick or Treat Party either. Just not our thing or worth the extra $ for us. :confused3

LGMH's: Ya, still need to get them. Fortunately we have a Home Depot like a block away literally.

What else? Is there anything I'm forgetting? It seems so far away, but really it's in like 2 weeks. So yeah, I'll keep this updated if and when anything interesting happens.

::MickeyMo

So today we made reservations for our first night at the Ramada Plaza. We really like this place (even though some people say it's too far) and for one night for like $75 it was a deal.

We might also make a BB PS for lunch, but that's questionable.

Tentative Itinerary:

10/8
-Drive down after school. Now that I have my permit I can do part of the driving! :car:
-Leave around 3:30
-Dinner along the way
-Arrive around 10? 10:30? Check-in to Ramada Plaza and sleep.

10/9
-Wake up early!
-Eat breakfast on the way to the parks
-Arrive at parks around 8:30-8:45 (hopefully)
-Disneyland for a couple hours
-DCA for a couple hours
-Leave parks and check-in to Tropicana (can check in at 4)
-Return to parks for evening

10/10
-Wake up earlier!
-Do Fantasyland in the morning (cause i don't get MM w/ AP :sad1: )
-Keep doing DL and DCA w/e we feel like
-Mom leaves in the afternoon to pick up Dad at airport, while me and my brother run around and do w/e we want!
-Mom and Dad meet back up with us
-Spend evening at DL (watch Remember Dreams Come True?)
-Head back to hotel for some nighty night.

10/11
-Wake up early (again!)
-Stay away from Nemo and Fantasyland first thing
-DL in the morning
-BB lunch????
-DCA in the afternoon
-DL in the evening
-Go back to hotel and sleep

10/12
-Get up a little later and head home :sad2:

Ya, that's where we're at right now! Very loose schedule and plenty of flexibility.

That looks like a great schedule. Do your folks let you plan the structure of your days since you have much Disney knowledge? I'm curious:scratchin , do you have asperations do work with Disney in some capacity when you're able to, or do you just enjoy the vacation aspect of it? Nosey, aren't I?

Ya, that's basically how it is, although my mom loves to plan too. My brother and dad don't see the fuss in all the planning of vacations and just go along with w/e we say.

Do I want to work for Disney? ummm, tough to say. I would really like to become an Imagineer or someone high up there in the Disney Parks business just because i think it would be so much fun. I really don't know, right now I'm really enjoying being a Disney Parks visitor! :wizard:

Anyways, the ticket arrived today! Basic paper tickets, not the hard plastic ones. Sooooooooooo excited. :woohoo:

Yea tickets!

I heard it's dead right now at DLR. I hope the low crowds hold out for your trip!

Ahhh! One week exactly and I will be driving down to the Mouse House. Sooper excited.

I was just thinking... since the parks have been so dead lately maybe you could get a last minute reservation for dining somewhere.. IF you wanted one. I bet you could :confused3

We might be able to. However, next week I think will be pretty crowded. The hours for Thursday increased from DL: 9-9, DCA: 10-6 (that's what it was like a month ago) to 9-11, 10-7. And on the weekend, DCA is open until 10, which is unlike all of the other October weekends. We'll see. I mean, we're aiming for high crowds, and low crowds would be a nice surprise.

Yep, we ended up getting 11:40 PS's at the Blue Bayou for Saturday. Mmmmmmm, I can't wait for another monte cristo. Yum, Yum, Yum. Also we're probably going to have lunch with my grandparents on Friday before my dad arrives. Maybe the Jazz Kitchen in DTD.

Yea Blue Bayou!! That was DEFINITELY my favorite memory of our last trip. Jazz Kitchen sounds/looks yummy, too! I'm glad you got some ressies...they're a nice thing to have even if you don't end up needing them.

I called and got PS's for Jazz Kitchen today for Friday at 11:30. Only 3 more days :cool1: I just have to make it through Wednesday (lots of tests :scared1: Why does every teacher seem to give the tests all on one day?). I also got my LGMH the other day at the Home Depot.

Oh and thanks travelmel! You go around and comment on everyone's TR's and it's really nice :goodvibes:

You're so welcome. I'm fairly addicted to the boards :rolleyes1

Three days and three dancing MIB's for you! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer:

Hey, what is a LGMH?? I think it has something to do with luggage but I'm sure. :confused3

LGMH stands for Lime Green Mickey Heads that they have in the paint samples at Home Depot. Since lime green is the official color of the DIS, LGMH's are used to tell if someone is a DISBoards member.

Also, a quick change. We got the Tropicana for one more night instead of the Ramada Plaza.

Leaving in 8 hours!

I'm back and have lots of pictures. I wrote up some of my trip report on the drive back, so I should have it updated tonight or tomorrow.

And Now.....On With The Show!

I've never seen the Halloween decorations so I'm excited for a full report!

Hi everyone! I’m back and ready to start on another Photo TR! I can guarantee you that this one will be loads better than the last one which I kinda rushed. This one will also have an enormous amount of pictures, which I hope you will enjoy. So let’s get started…

Do I need a list of characters? Ok fine:
Me: Avid Disney fanatic, I know a ton about DLR and WDW, but mostly DLR. I am a proud Deluxe AP holder as of this past August, so I convinced my family to go because we had a long weekend (Thursday off for Yom Kippur and Friday Staff Development day). I usually have everything planned out, but this time I was more relaxed in the planning because of all of my schoolwork ugh.

My mom: Loves Disneyland and grew up going to the park often. She is would rather stay up really late than get up early, but she sacrificed some of her sleep to get to the parks early ;). She’s a trooper and could run around the park all day.

My brother: Is not so keen on the “Disney” part of Disneyland if you get what I mean. He dislikes the characters and the Fantasyland dark rides and would rather spend the entire day on Space or Big Thunder. He also usually tires out quickly, but he did better on this trip.

My dad: Joined us on Friday evening and Saturday because he had that silly staff development day on Friday morning :teacher: . He is probably the most GP (general public) out of all of us, meaning that without our guidance, he would wander around aimlessly at DLR, not knowing the best strategies or tips about the rides. Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s just not what a DIS board member does!

I went to Disneyland this past August and the August before that, but the rest of my family had not been to DLR since December 06, so there were some new things for them this trip.

Ok, that was probably too long of an intro, but whatever. Finally, let’s get started with the actual report.

So my brother and mom picked me up from school on Wednesday at 2:15 (school ends at 3, but I don’t have a last period, so we could leave early). With all of our stuff already in our car and Jamba Juices as our afternoon snacks, we hit the road. Seeing as though I have my driver’s permit, I got to drive a lot of the way (even over the grapevine at night), which was really good experience :drive: . I hopefully will get my actual license in a week or so. Anyways, we get to the Tropicana around 9:30, which we made really good time.

We checked in and got our room on the second story. The rooms were decent, the shower was poor, but everything else was fine and clean. One thing we did notice was how quiet our room was, which was great. We hopped in the hot tub for about 20 minutes, which was very relaxing. Then we zonked in the hotel room. :faint:

(So because of the massive amounts of pictures, I’m going to do the report in segments of each day, and even within those, the posts might be cut off.)

Morning of 10/9:
We got up around 7 and got ready for our day. The “complimentary morning refreshments” were small, but ok for the first day. The danishes were good. Then we set off for the park, which opened at 9.

Yay, we’re here!

We arrived pretty much right at 9 and stood in a long line to get in. We noticed a lot of people. We were like “Go home people, don’t you have school?” but apparently AZ and UT had a “fall break” or whatever and there was some major convention going on. So we get in and I absolutely love this sign:

And head down Main Street. It was Thursday, so MM day (but stupid AP doesn’t give me MM) and they had a rope drop at 9, so they were holding a TON of people on Main Street. So, me being the clever one, weaved through the Main Street Shops and I made it to the front of the rope. My mom and brother were still back with the crowd, but I was going to get Space FPs and meet them at Indy. So I run (Ahem..I mean walk fast) to get Space FPs for later and make my way through the huge crowds to Adventureland and got in line for Indy. The line only took about 15 minutes. Indy is my favorite ride at DLR hands down and so of course I loved it. I got a great shot of the Mara painting in the queue:

Next up was Pirates, which, I know, I know probably should be saved for the more busy times of day, but we did it anyways. The 3 of us had the front row of the boat and the rest of the boat was filled with …how should I say this… Pooh sized people. Needless to say our boat was heavy and we got relatively wet on the drops. :rotfl:

I ran and got FPs for BTMRR while the other two got in line for HMH. This line was ridiculously long during our whole trip and the FPs went fast. At least it was not using all of the switchbacks, so the line was only about 15 minutes. I really like the layover even though I have not ever seen the movie. This year apparently the gingerbread man was new and I really liked it, especially the scent. Some shots of the ride:
This was the line

We got off and decided to just do Splash Mountain since we were over there. We only waited for about 25 minutes, but when we got off the ride the line was almost 60. :scared1: . A shot from the queue:

Some on-ride shots (this whole trip I was kinda obsessed with on-ride pics)

Exiting, we decided to ride Pooh, which if anybody has gone to DLR never has a line. I have never in my life ever seen such a line for The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh at DL until Thursday. The queue was entirely full and almost stretched into the midway. Yep, it was a crowded day. Oh well, we braved the line, which only ended up being about 15-20 minutes (way too long for Pooh). One minor complaint about the ride is that the vehicle motion wasn’t working in our beehive.

Seeing that today would be crowded :crowded: , we were definitely grateful that we had gotten BTMRR FPs earlier because by now it had a 30+ minute line and we skipped it all. I rarely take pictures of BTMRR, so I have a ton here. Enjoy.

We were hungry

Yes we were, so we ate lunch at the Hungry Bear. I got a humongous burger (good quality), my brother got a pretty good chicken sandwich, and my mom got a sketchy looking turkey sandwich, which was huge and came with lots of bread so she just ate the meat. With two of our sandwiches we got grapes, which beats fries any day. I'll end tonight's update with a shot of a Disneyland cat from the Hungry Bear eating area.
