Hi everyone! Im back and ready to start on another Photo TR! I can guarantee you that this one will be loads better than the last one which I kinda rushed. This one will also have an enormous amount of pictures, which I hope you will enjoy. So lets get started
Do I need a list of characters? Ok fine:
Me: Avid Disney fanatic, I know a ton about DLR and WDW, but mostly DLR. I am a proud Deluxe AP holder as of this past August, so I convinced my family to go because we had a long weekend (Thursday off for Yom Kippur and Friday Staff Development day). I usually have everything planned out, but this time I was more relaxed in the planning because of all of my schoolwork ugh.
My mom: Loves
Disneyland and grew up going to the park often. She is would rather stay up really late than get up early, but she sacrificed some of her sleep to get to the parks early

. Shes a trooper and could run around the park all day.
My brother: Is not so keen on the Disney part of Disneyland if you get what I mean. He dislikes the characters and the Fantasyland dark rides and would rather spend the entire day on Space or Big Thunder. He also usually tires out quickly, but he did better on this trip.
My dad: Joined us on Friday evening and Saturday because he had that silly staff development day on Friday morning

. He is probably the most GP (general public) out of all of us, meaning that without our guidance, he would wander around aimlessly at DLR, not knowing the best strategies or tips about the rides. Not that thats a bad thing, its just not what a DIS board member does!
I went to Disneyland this past August and the August before that, but the rest of my family had not been to DLR since December 06, so there were some new things for them this trip.
Ok, that was probably too long of an intro, but whatever. Finally, lets get started with the actual report.
So my brother and mom picked me up from school on Wednesday at 2:15 (school ends at 3, but I dont have a last period, so we could leave early). With all of our stuff already in our car and Jamba Juices as our afternoon snacks, we hit the road. Seeing as though I have my drivers permit, I got to drive a lot of the way (even over the grapevine at night), which was really good experience

. I hopefully will get my actual license in a week or so. Anyways, we get to the Tropicana around 9:30, which we made really good time.
We checked in and got our room on the second story. The rooms were decent, the shower was poor, but everything else was fine and clean. One thing we did notice was how quiet our room was, which was great. We hopped in the hot tub for about 20 minutes, which was very relaxing. Then we zonked in the hotel room.
(So because of the massive amounts of pictures, Im going to do the report in segments of each day, and even within those, the posts might be cut off.)
Morning of 10/9:
We got up around 7 and got ready for our day. The complimentary morning refreshments were small, but ok for the first day. The danishes were good. Then we set off for the park, which opened at 9.
Yay, were here!
We arrived pretty much right at 9 and stood in a long line to get in. We noticed a lot of people. We were like Go home people, dont you have school? but apparently AZ and
UT had a fall break or whatever and there was some major convention going on. So we get in and I absolutely love this sign:
And head down Main Street. It was Thursday, so MM day (but stupid AP doesnt give me MM) and they had a rope drop at 9, so they were holding a TON of people on Main Street. So, me being the clever one, weaved through the Main Street Shops and I made it to the front of the rope. My mom and brother were still back with the crowd, but I was going to get Space FPs and meet them at Indy. So I run (Ahem..I mean walk fast) to get Space FPs for later and make my way through the huge crowds to Adventureland and got in line for Indy. The line only took about 15 minutes. Indy is my favorite ride at DLR hands down and so of course I loved it. I got a great shot of the Mara painting in the queue:
Next up was Pirates, which, I know, I know probably should be saved for the more busy times of day, but we did it anyways. The 3 of us had the front row of the boat and the rest of the boat was filled with
how should I say this
Pooh sized people. Needless to say our boat was heavy and we got relatively wet on the drops.
I ran and got FPs for BTMRR while the other two got in line for HMH. This line was ridiculously long during our whole trip and the FPs went fast. At least it was not using all of the switchbacks, so the line was only about 15 minutes. I really like the layover even though I have not ever seen the movie. This year apparently the gingerbread man was new and I really liked it, especially the scent. Some shots of the ride:
This was the line
We got off and decided to just do Splash Mountain since we were over there. We only waited for about 25 minutes, but when we got off the ride the line was almost 60.

. A shot from the queue:
Some on-ride shots (this whole trip I was kinda obsessed with on-ride pics)
Exiting, we decided to ride Pooh, which if anybody has gone to DLR never has a line. I have never in my life ever seen such a line for The Many Adventures of Winnie-the-Pooh at DL until Thursday. The queue was entirely full and almost stretched into the midway. Yep, it was a crowded day. Oh well, we braved the line, which only ended up being about 15-20 minutes (way too long for Pooh). One minor complaint about the ride is that the vehicle motion wasnt working in our beehive.
