COMPLETE:7 Nights at POP w/a 1 year old AKA...Pop Jets, Scary ducks, & Stranded at GF

Oh, sure... YOU met Candee... I spent a week walking around with a little trinket in my bag JUST for her and never saw her at all.

Keep on writing! I'm still reading!!

As I read through this I start to remember other things I missed, like the DIS meet on 10/1 (or was it 9/30) where I ran into DisneyMommyMichelle and some other DISers. Or riding the bus with Camafrogs who was kind enough to pick me up a box of Puffs Plus when she ran out to Walgreens. DD and DH had a runny nose and the room tissues were too harsh.

Having not spent much quality time at Epcot besides eating, we started off our first full day at Epcot. We rode Universe of Energy, Figment, and the Land. DD really got excited about the fish! I also went on the green side of Mission Space with my mom. It really wasn't that much different. I was afraid it would be totally lame.

We ate lunch at the LAND. This was my absolute favorite counter service. There were so many choices and real food! The desserts were amazing!

After Figment we went for a walk around World Showcase. DD fell asleep immediately and napped the whole time. I really enjoy looking in all the shops, but was dissapointed to see no more Diddle merchandise at the UK. We also enjoyed trying a few foods and using up snack credits.

After we walked around I went back to Canada for some ice wine (SO DELICIOUS!!!) and DH got into a lengthy conversation with an artist who had paintings for sale. He ended up buying one of some vegetables. He's really into food art for some reason.

We rode the globe for the last time, and then ventured over to Ohana for dinner. No crazy transportation issues this time, we arrived a few minutes early for our 5:15 ADR. My mom was joining us for this one. This time was perfect as we could go back to MK for the evening and ride some more rides and catch Spectro and Wishes once more.

I was really excited for Ohana because DD was old enough for the coconut races and the hula dances. So, when we were seated outside of the main dining room near the hostess station I nearly started to cry. When my mom asked if I was okay I actually did start to cry. I asked for another table and they said it would be 45 minutes. (?!!!?) I really don't see how it would take 45 minutes to move to another table, but it did. Anyway, our waitress told us just to wait because it would go fast if I really wanted to be in there, so I took DD over to the beach and she found the POLY version of the Pop Jets. The beach was funny. DD was wearing Dora shoes (yes, sacreligious) and she left Dora footprints allover a Disney beach. :rotfl:

They got me. Yep, I proceeded to pick up DD so SHE wouldn't get wet, and one got me in the butt. Yes, I was wearing denim.

After a bit my mom called on my cell phone to say the table was almost ready so we headed back.

It was a good meal and the coconut races were fun. Some kid stole DD's coconut though when his rolled away. :lmao: We did the hula and DD was really into it.

Unfortunately due to the delay, we didn't arrive at MK until about 7:30. We decided to skip Spectro since DD was terrified of it and we had yet to see mIckey's Toontown fair. We went there, saw Mickey and DD played at the playground for a bit.

We then rode the Tomorrowland Speedway (a tight squeeze for the three of us) and got a spot for Wishes.

I was amazed. We waited until the end of the fireworks to leave and still managed to beat the crowds! No waiting in line for a bus! :cheer2:

Our last day I had planned to go to Downtown Disney so that we could buy souvenirs. I decided I wanted a nice coffee table book. For that reason I didn't actually take many pictures, since I'd have the coffee table book. Surely there'd be one somewhere in DTD.

However, in the morning I was sad we didn't spend enough time at MK, so we went there. I figured I could get my book online. (BTW, can't find one, so no souvenir for me. :guilty: )

We took our luggage to my mom's room since she got a 1pm checkout and then boarded the buses.

I knew something special was going on, because the Times Guide put out was just for Oct 4. I found out later it was the day the Keys to the Kingdom family was there, but I wouldn't have known it. There was a special new stage show for the Year of a Million dreams, with pyrotechnics!

We rode the Carousal and Its a Small World and a few other rides and let DD play in Pooh's Playful Spot.

We then went back to the resort.

DD played in the Pop Jets, and one finally got her! After that she had no more love for the Pop Jets!

We moved our luggage to the front where my mom sat with it until it was time to go. Like a good DISer, I didn't take any of the towel animals we received during our trip. However, as we were leaving the room, our mousekeeper came running after us with one of the towel animals for DD. So we took it. Of course it was the one DD had pulled all the stickers off of so it was one-eyed. :thumbsup2

We ate lunch in the food court and waited outside for ME to get us. Of course I forgot where I put the boarding passes so I'm tearing apart everything looking for them. Never did find them. They let me on anyway.

Out front of the resort (before boarding ME) there were activities for DD like chalk to color with and hula hoops. She just kept hoarding the hula hoops!

We arrived at the airport, got a Skycap for the luggage (my mom tipped, so it was free to me), and waited for our flight.

We got back to Philly a bit later than anticipated. We had to circle over the airport for 45 minutes. DD kept saying "done, done" but of course I had to keep her in her seat. I finally turned on our portable DVD player, and then 10 minutes later we got the "turn off electronic devices" message.

Since it was so late, we spent the night at my parents who live near Philly (We had planned to drive the 2.5 hours home that night). I went straight to work the next day. Yes, I didn't even go home first!

For future reference...take off work the day after you plan to arrive!

Oh, and funny last comment. Like I said, I was good and didn't take any of the towel animals, but as I was unpacking I discovered I accidentally took a hotel towel! I'm a Disney hotel towel thief! :rotfl:

 Thanks for reading!

I had read parts of your TR before it was finished! I just finished reading the whole thing! Sounds like you had a good time but defintely feel sorry for you for having to go to work the day after and not even getting to go home...You need another vacation now!!! Good TR! Can't wait until my trip in April! :cool1:

I just have to get round to writing mine! yikes

ok it's now 3:15...& I gotta pick up dd at 3:30 ! Guess I'm gonna be late!

I LOVE the part about the pOP jets! My gracie would literally stick her face on top of the jet and get 110% soaked each time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cat beat me to it! :rotfl2:
So I will say GREAT trippy and freaking ADORABLE daughter! :p
Seriously, very good. I got some good ideas for ADR's from your report. I will probably not do Donald's Breakfastosaurus again it was too rushed. Maybe Park Fare next time.
Anyway... now if I can just get around to finishing mine up. :dance3:
Thanks for sharing your memories with us!

Great Trippie and Cute kid :teeth:

Love the DORA sandals! haha!! DD wore many a DORA outfits on the trip ::yes::

(In advance, sorry this is so long. You know how chatty I can be, and I wanted to comment on every little thing. I could go on and on... can't wait to get down there myself!)

So, what’d you think of the updated Pirates of the Caribbean ride? I’m a Universal Girl myself, but we do on occasion go to Disney, and about the only thing drawing me back to the Crowded Kingdom is a chance to ride the new Pirates!

Yes, Pacman is totally 80’s. No question about that.

a CM who told her the VIPs paid a lot more than her to be there
About the VIP spots??! That’s crazy. See, I’ve had lots of problems like this with CM’s in the past. They are *****Y.

DD fell asleep on Spaceship Earth
I love Spaceship Earth! It’s so cool (in the most dorky way ever). One of my fondest memories of my first trip to Disney is me and my best friend riding it like 10 times in a row, to rest. We didn’t sleep, but we were close. I feel like it’s just so cozy in there. I could ride it all day.

What are love bugs? …

I love the Carousel of Progress… we always get that song in our head for days when we go. I think they should update it though. The last section is a little… “yeah… and?” now.

It sounds like Alex really enjoyed the trip. I’m so happy for you guys… I know it feels so good to share something like this with your favorite little person, and now that she’s finally old enough to enjoy it somewhat, it’s even better. We’ve taken Tayan to Universal (and a little Disney) …3 times now, and he’s been a good baby, not not really got to enjoy kid shows and stuff yet.

I can hardly wait to get going on our trip next week! Reading this has really got me excited! We’re leaving Tuesday after work.

Hey, we saw the Narnia backlot tour, too. It was pretty neat. We went back in March. We also saw the MGM end-of-the-night show that night… the one on the water, with Mickey. It was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen at Disney. It actually made me feel like I was 10 years old and at Disney for the first time (even though the first time I went I was 14). I loved it.

We saw a talking trashcan at Magic Kingdom last time we were there. It was cool. Didn’t figure out how it worked. There’s a similar thing at Islands of Adventure, but it’s a talking “mystic fountain.” It’s really fun, because the guy talks to the kids, and then he sprays them with water, or sprays some guy not paying attention… we always have a lot of fun there.

Hey by the way, do you rent strollers, or bring your own? We usually rent them… we like the ones they have at the park. Do you run into trouble trying to take them from park to park? It sucks to not have them during transportation between parks.

I’m really looking forward to having my mother and father-in-law on the trip with us this time. It sounds like you got to have a lot of extra fun because your mom was there to help with Alex. I can’t wait to have that!

The love bugs were these crazy bugs that flew around while we were there. They didn't hurt or anything, but were everywhere. I should've taken a picture. It was crazy. One time, sitting on a bench was like fear factor because I had to brush away hundreds of bugs to clear off a spot. Oh, they were called love bugs because they would always fly with two together stuck together at the butt.

Oh, we definately bring strollers. Last year we brought the full size stroller, this year it was a lightweight/umbrella stroller that reclined and had a sun visor. $10 times 8 days equals way too much. Plus this way we had a stroller at the resort and in the airport. We just gate checked it.

Sorry if this sounds silly, but what is gate checked? How does the stroller figure in with your luggage count?
