On our way back from Disney we stayed at a hotel we have stayed at several times before. This time, however, the room was gross. the tub very very dirty. One of the tv's didn't work (it was a suite hotel) it was the tv in the master. And the management had this "oh well" attitude. When I asked about additional towels as we were a family of 6 and booked as such - I was told we would have to wait until 7 the next day since the housekeeping staff was off for the night. It was 8pm.

So I emailed the main company and complained and expressed my disappointment in how it was handled.

They sent me a $50 room credit for future use. Hey I'll take it! But I won't stay at that hotel again- but I'll try a different one. (they have a ton of hotels)

We had something like that happen to us once. Our family, MIL & FIL , and BIL and his fam had a GG at WDW in 2008. We had booked a hotel near the airport as we had an early flight. DH and I had convinced everyone we should stay at hotel X because they had a pool and the kids could use it, so hopefully it would wear them out and they might sleep before we left int he morning. We get to the hotel and it was one problem after another. First they had 'lost' our ressie, but we had 3 confirmation #s as we were the ones who booked everything. Then they had started construction on the floor above ours and it was still going on past ten that evening (we had to call the front desk and ask when it might stop as we had an early flight the next day). Then the pool was closed...someone had gotten sick in the pool the night before and the staff hadn't gotten around to shocking the pool yet. So when we arrived home I gave the chain a call, they ended up refunding all 3 rooms since we had such a terrible stay!

It is great when the hotels/chains do take care of the issue or at least try to make it right. I can say I will never stay at another Ramada after an incident we dealt with there and have been lied to from the manager at the time to the supposed new manager, etc. Now Drury has been a good chain and I have had problems twice at one particular hotel (really not staff's fault as one was unsupervised kids running the hall and when staff tried to get them he had no luck finding the room they belonged too and could not leave the desk unattended too long and the other was someone smoking in their room and it being brought in through the air vent into ours) but the staff did what they could to make it right. I am very pleased with Drury brand hotels. I have become more picky with hotels as well especially since my daughter ended up with a staff infection on her feet from the waterpark area of the ramada hotel. That and the moldy food found behind the nightstands was enough to make you ill.
