I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this for me. My best friend and I are planning a last minute, girls-only trip to Disney World in October. She has never been to Disney, but really wants to see what I'm always going on about. Details of last minute trips make me nervous, however, I am responsible for planning and telling her what we're going to do.
She lives in Pensacola, Florida now, and she will be paying for the hotel. Being a Chicago girl, I've never given Florida resident rates a thought before. Do you have to buy a certain kind of pass to get the hotel discounts when they're available? Do you just bring proof of residency? If so, what kind?
Adding to the complications, she is also active military - she's a marine. So, I'm also trying to figure out Shades of Green overflow (as they appear to be booked when we want to go) and which discount rates might be better.
Does anyone have any understanding of FL resident rates or military discounts they'd be willing to share before I pull my hair out? I really, really don't want to screw up her first trip to Disney.
Thanks!
