I know I'm obsessive because this question doesn't even pertain until next year  but, after our 2 trips this year (one of which DD will be pulled out of school), I'm thinking that I won't be pulling DD out of school anymore except maybe a day or two around a holiday since she's getting older and entering Middle school :faint: . So, I'm looking at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. We also go in the summer besides the other trip. What is the comparison between the holidays crowd-wise and how do they compare to summer?

good question. don't know the answer but i'll bump for ya. when we've gone in the summer in the past, I just remember that we always had to wait a long time in the lines for the rides. But other than that, I never thought it was that bad. We've gone July 4 week as well.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is the busiest week of the year at WDW.

Easter Sunday is also an incredibly busy day.

Thanksgiving day itself isn't too bad, but the weekend following is pretty packed, since both locals and tourists use the long weekend as a chance to visit.

If I were to rank them in order for myself, based on which dates I'd choose first, second and third, I'd go Thanksgiving weekend (crowds are high, but you also get holiday decor and shows); then Easter (high crowds, but usually wonderful weather); then Christmas (you actually couldn't pay me enough to go to MK between Dec 25-31.

:earsboy:

WE've been thanksgiving week and Easter week and didn't really have problems, but we are WDW vets. Nice to see the decorations at Thanksgiving. Gorgeous weather at Easter! How long can you make it without going! LOL! I think resort room prices were cheaper at Thanksgiving, too

How would the crowds be going the whole week of Thanksgiving? I am thinking of allowing the kids to miss school Mon and Tues so that we would get 7 days at the parks for only 2 missed school days. I know by the weekend it will be busy but what about the days leading up to Thanksgiving? Thanks!

This is the type of thing I'm thinking of, also. I'm hoping it's not to bad....

I love it then. The few days before are empty. The Wed. before the crowds start to grow. Thanksgiving day through Saturday are the busy days. Then Sunday it is empty again. Even on the busy days, the crowds are not as bad as Summer in my opinion. Anyway, the same size crowd is easier to deal with when it is not 100 degrees.

I mentioned this in another thread. Be prepared, the weather is sometimes unpredictable that time of year. If you are going to be there a week, bring a variety of clothes.
