I just got an offer in the mail-if we spend over $400. (already done with a Father's Day grill & misc. expenses... :flower: ) between June 1st-July 31st, you can receive a voucher for a companion airline ticket to Disneyland or WDW!!! :cool1:
The certificates will be sent out after 7/31 and must be returned by 11/15/05. Then you need to complete travel by 11/15/06. It says that the selection of airlines varies by market and complete details will be with the certificate.
How cool!! :cool1: I was thinking of a 12/06 trip, but may look into early Nov. instead! :sunny: I'll have to look into the difference in hotel costs since Nov. will be reg. season vs. value season in early Dec.

It was an insert with my new Disney Visa card (new exp. date, not brand new account). :flower:

If you have a Disney Visa, yours might be on its way!! :cool1:

I hope I get this offer. Since DH and I both have Disney Visas, I wonder if we'll get two offers? That would be great with a family of 5.

Boy! That would be a great opportunity. And then we wouldn't have to use our Frequent Flyer Miles. But our trip is scheduled for the end of September and it would be a gamble to wait until July to get the particulars of the offer. :(

Oh poop, i just made a deposit on my DCL, but i think i made it the end of may
:sad2: and i was just looking for airfare to DL for next year, almost booked.
but i wonder by the time you get the vouchers and book the airfare might be high and sometimes it better to book well ahead of time. did it state any black out dates. :umbrella:

I hope we get one maybe we could afford to fly down in Jan. for our cruise and stay at WDW. Thanks for the info.

I didn't get that offer either....I NEVER get any of the great offers you guys get. Anyway, is that only of you purchase a package to DL or WDW including the airfare?

I am not saying that we ALL will get this offer, because I have no idea if we will or not. But the OP said that this was something that she received in her most recent bill. Perhaps we should all wait until we get this month's bill before we assume that we not getting the offer.

Saying that, I will say that I did go to the Disney VISA website last night and checked under "View Current Offers" and it was not listed under that. But then again, I could not find the Free Herbie Screening under that either. So who the heck knows?

I received the following offer with my new set of cards (my old ones expire in July) not my bill.

"GET A FREE COMPANION AIRLINE TICKET
To thank you for being a loyal Cardmember, we're welcoming you to Chase (they took over for BankOne) with a special bonus: Spend $200 on your card between June 1 and July 31, 2005 and you'll get a certificate for a free Companion airline ticket to Disneyland or Walt Disney World. Certificate must be returned by November 15, 2005. Travel Must be completed by November 15, 2006. Other restrictions apply. Please see the back of this letter for details."

"Terms & Conditions: The free Companion Ticket applies to the base fare only. Taxes, passenger facility charges, segment fees, surcharges and any other governtmental fees or international departure fees, if applicable will apply to both tickets. Lower fares may be available in certain markets. Customers should consult with our agents to determine the most economical fare for their itinerary. Selection of airlines varies by market: airline service is not available in all markets and blackout dates and other restrictions may apply. The normal requires taxes will apply for each ticket issued. Complete details will be provided with your Companion Airline Certificate. This offer only applies to purchases made with your credit card from June 1, 2005 through July 31, 2005. You will be eligible to receive your certificate if you spend greater than or equal to $200 from June 1, 2005 through July 31, 2005. Purchases do not include balance transfers and convenience checks, cash advances, fees or other finance charges. Your credit card account must be open and not delinquent to be eligible for this promotion and to receive your certificate. You will receive your certificate 8-10 weeks following July 31, 2005. Certificate must be activated by November 15, 2005. Travel must be completed by November 15, 2006. This offer is non-transferable."

So if you are upset that you didn't get one with your bill, it didn't come with my bill at all. Just the new cards and the 'Welcome to Chase" spiel.

EDITED TO SAY--this is not just for new cardholders--I am a DAY 1 cardholder, and this DID NOT come with my bill, came with my new (updated) cards bearing the CHASE logo.

And, if I log into my online account, it is not there under my offers either. Hope those who are upset receive this. :)

Hi-I'm the OP-it wasn't in my bill, it was with my new set of cards. I also looked under "view current offers" online to see if there were more details and it doesn't mention this deal for me either.

Also, it doesn't mention whether or not you need to purchase a package to do this. I guess we'll have to wait 'til after July for the fine print... :confused3

I was considering switching dates for a 2006 trip from early Dec. to early Nov. so we could take advantage of this offer, BUT...I think I'll end up spending more on hotel costs since it would be regular season vs. value season (for WL, it's $35. more per night & if we stay for 8 nights that's $280. more-last trip we purchased airline tickets for $188. each-so this would be more expensive...)???? :confused3

We'll see how this all plays out...maybe I should look into a trip this Jan. instead... :rotfl2:

Thanks for the clarification on this. Looks like this offer may be for NEW cardholders only.

Makes booking those FF tickets a lot easier for me. :)

Beth...I read it as not for new cardholders. the first line says to reward you for being a loyal cardholder and welcome you to chase. But, again, I never get any of those offers, so I won't hold my breath. If it isn't required to be part of a package, then couldn't a card member just fly into LAX or MCO and go somewhere else?

Thanks for the clarification on this. Looks like this offer may be for NEW cardholders only.

No, I've been a cardholder since DAY 1, I'm not a new cardholder. They are sending out new cards for 2 reasons: 1-because current cards are expiring (like mine) and 2-because they are now owned by CHASE not BANK ONE anymore so they are replacing them month by month. I talked to a rep after I called to activate my card and that is what the rep told me. One dept is working on replacing those that are expiring, another is working on replacing all old BANK ONE cards with CHASE cards and a third dept is working on those who specifically request one the new design cards.

----So it did not come with a bill & it is not only for new cardholders.

Hope this clears things up! :)

Assuming I get the offer :::crossing fingers:::

Will Visa automatically send the travel certificate, or is this something that you must register for? I wonder what the airline selection & terms of travel will be....I guess we won't know that until August!

I just got off the phone with a VERY nice CS person at Case about my Disney Visa. I had requested my new Golden Anniversary edition card via internet about four weeks ago and had not received it yet, so I was calling to check on that. He said there was no notation on my account about my card prefrence and he would have that sent out today. He said it only take about five business days to get it. While I was on the line with him I asked him about these compainion airline vouchers. He said he was familiar with the program and could I hold while he checked on it. He came back a few min. later and said that there was no way for him to note that I was to receive one, it was determined strictly by the marketing dept. He did say that if I didn't get one this month, I may receive one in the future. Maybe it's something they have going on until all the cards have been replaced? I just hope that since I requested my new card that maybe I will get one!

Just wanted to share, for those of you who have companion fare offers, be careful. Sometimes these are only good if the first person books a certain fare and you could have gotten two discount tickets for less than the regular fare. I used to see people book these and sometimes they would pay $200-300 more than if they had just bought two tickets.

I'm not saying you cannot get a good deal, just be cautious and ask about all your options. :wave2:
