Community Room at SSR

We'll be at SSR in a few days and plan on spending at least one day at the resort. Can anyone tell me about the activities in the Community Room? I'll have two 16 year old girls.

I thought I also read somewhere they have ceramics and floral arranging. Is there somewhere to sign up for these and what is the cost?

You can get a schedule of the events going on at the community hall, it is updated weekly. We did many of the activities...and yes they have ceramics (lots of fun), floral arrange, we did t-shirts, backpacks, friendship bracelets...it was alot of fun.

one day last trip housekeeping came in and showed us how to make those "towel animals" and such. Kids really enjoyed it.

Are the activities for only kids or would teens and adults enjoy any of them. I would be interested in floral arrangement and wondered how much it cost?

Hi!

The Floral Arranging is conducted by WDW Florist and is an hour long class. It is $35 and DVC gets a 10% off discount. Most CH activities will be less than $8 per person very few over $3.

You keep what you make. I was there right after Christmas last year, and the holiday arrangement was really nice.

I have boys, and they really enjoyed many of the activities at CH. We made (painted) wooden tops ($2) as a family, made NYE party hats and glasses (Free), and I painted a really nice canvas backpack ($7). I really enjoyed it too, and we met great people from all over as we worked on our activities.

I used a small magnet and posted our CH schedule to the Villa door. We would check each day and decide what we wanted to do.
They accept room charges so no need to carry anything else.
