How do people stay in touch with others in their party without everyone having to purchase wifi? Our cell carrier has told us to turn OFF data and not to voice or text unless we’re on land. I think I’ve heard you can communicate through the app? How well does this work, and does it require wifi or using your cell carriers network?

We communicated through the app last week. Some messages were delayed once in a while. Uses Disney wifi, does not need a purchased plan. Most of the time we went on airplane mode and turned on Disney wifi, with our account logged off. I made it through the week only using the free 50mb I got on embarkation day.
