Tied for first with Cinderella's Gus, Mater is my favorite Disney Character of all time. I do wonder, though...how do they make that character work? I mean, is it a plastic thing you can climb on, or is there a live person in there like the other characters?...

Mater is Mater. He talks, just like in the movie. What's this "person inside" you mention? He's just Mater. Nice and simple.
