Committee to plan vacations presents December Dreaming...we are back withlost of Pics

So lets start at the very begining it is a very good place to start.....

We awoke at a very painfully early 330am to be ready for our 430am pick up with a town car service.

With last minute baggage checks and sad good byes to the puppies and little sis.

Off we were cozy in the town car to logan airport. The driver was nice and was telling us how they own DVC! Along 93 we went early to the airport so that we could get some breakfast. We were relaxed that is until........................... the town car DIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It does not just die on the side of the highway it dies in the tunnel on the way to the airport! There we were at 5am on a Thursday morning with a dead car in the middle of the Callahan tunnel! from there we start to freak out:scared1:

I pictured us walking with our suitcases out of the long tunnel in Florida clothes. So we end up getting pushed out of the tunnel by a state trooper, a constant fender bender all the way out of the tunnel Oi!

Well do you know happens when the power dies in a town car.....the back door locks do not work:scared1: :scared1:

cut to scene : mother and daughter now trying to climb over the front seat of a town car to freedom! Interesting sight on the side of the road i a sure.

So there we stood on the side of the road at the tunnel toll booth wondering just how we are going to get to the airport.

after a hailed cab that was nasty and a cabie that made us move all of our own luggage we did in fact make it to the airport.....in some what of one piece.

as my mother was telling me to take pictures no one is going to believe what is going on, i failed to take pictures at this point of the adventure.

on to the gate.....

Great pictures! I leave tomorrow and I can't wait!!

By the way....I'm a Texas girl, but cheer for the Red Sox.
And I LOVE The Office. Can't wait for tonight's episode!

So when we last left off we were dragging ourselves into Logan airport after the scary experience of breaking down in the tunnel!

So with no lines in sight for checking bags we moved quickly though security and on to the hunt for coffee. We ran into some old acquaintances on their way to Disney as well while waiting for coffee.

As we settled into the gate mum made the declaration of the morning…..”Oh what the hell, I am upgrading us to first class!”

Woohoo we flew first class down to Disney with our stuffy heads resting nicely in large seats. We got a nice little breakfast and all the beverages that could soothe our soar throats.

The flight was smooth and we arrived in Orlando around 950am. After jumping on the tram we joined the masses at the magical express area. The line was epic and was the typical way to kick off a Disney vacation. At some point there was mention it could take an hour to go through the line! That was not the case but I did find my check in only take moments and others who did not follow directions and understand the process of magical express took much longer in line.

So all excited to begin our Christmas adventure we hop on the bus, that is when it started….are we going to go any faster……ok she is driving like 40 on the highway…..no really this is too slow. Then it started everyone was noticing that not only were we driving too slow but the ride was awful. We watched the video and still took 25 more minutes to hit the first restort!!!!! Eventually we were released at the Wilderness Lodge before anyone lost their cookies!

There were many people disembarking at the Lodge so I sent mum in to check in while I waited forever for my carryon to be released from bellow the bus.

Check in was great, I walk up to hear the girl calling mum Queen! And of course I got Princess Caitlin…..an a sticker. So what I am 26 I still wanted a sticker!
Our room was ready!

Off we went to find our room….wait mum did you say 10something. We are on the first floor and need a treasure map to find this place! We got to the room and there was nothing wrong with the room, I just did not like the walkway right outside our patio. There was no courtyard view just a shrub so I felt it was not too much to ask for another room. We headed back up to the lobby and we were quickly given a new room assignment! On the third floor 3023 to be exact. Nice location and nice view!

We dropped out things and decided some lunch and a trip to the Magic Kingdom was in order. We headed to Roaring Forks for some lunch and to check out the location and selection.

Food!! Here is my roast beef and blue cheese sandwich. I think I ate about 3 of these during the trip, it was very good!

We finished our lunch, made phone calls about the scary morning we had because no one was going to believe us! And off we went to the Magic Kingdom!

Arrggggg!!!

We took in all the Christmas glory of the MK. Lots of things to look at! We wandered around and took it all in. We hopped on Pirates and just took it easy. At some point we headed back to the Lodge to clean up and maybe nap up before we headed out for dinner later.
Up Next....Kona and Adventures in Epcot

(pics are a little on the large side, i will see about changing that for my next update)

We had a wicked ice storm here in massachusetts last night. i barely made it into work this mornig without damage with all the power lines and trees down. we are with out power at home and we lost a tree in the front yard:scared1: depending on what the power situation is i may not be able to update this weekend because i used all the juice on my laptop uploading pictures last night!!!

stay cozy!

OMG - I can't believe that experience you had with the towne car! Did they compensate you for any of that? I certainly hope so! I contemplated using the limo service again (my gf & I did that back in January - it was her first Disney trip and we had an awesome driver). My son is driving up to Reagan National tomorrow morning and am so glad the winter storm didn't hit us but I'm sorry to hear you got all that ice and no power :sad1:

Hope it comes back on soon! Enjoying your trip so far!

Evening one!!

Tonight we were heading over to the Polynesian to Kona Café for dinner. It is my favorite place to have dinner in MK. I have a love of that tropical feeling which I think is brought on by those tropical drinks!

Dinner was great, out server was ehhh! When my mum booked this dinner for us she mentioned we were celebrating my birthday because we had celebrated my sisters birthday there the last time and they were great about it. Well this server’s response was ..just like every one else in this place. Well now that was truly magical hahah!

Other than that we had a nice relaxing dinner we got sushi for an appetizer, the scallops and shrimp for entrée, and the chocolate lava cake for desert. Desert was a bit disappointing, it was dry and on the cold side.

After dinner we wandered around the Poly and looked at all of the decorations and visited the nooks and crannies we remembered from our last trip. (decoration photos)

After taking in the tropical holiday flair we decided to venture back in time to the Victorian era and head to the Grand Floridian to see what they can do with Christmas. We took the boat over to the GF from the Poly, loved that little ride from our last trip. We stayed here last trip in August and I do not think I could imagine staying there during the holidays. There were so many people around that I do not think I could enjoy my resort. We saw the gingerbread house and many families getting their photos taken in front of the lovely Christmas tree. We ended the evening as we always do…shopping. I love the shop in the Grand that sells women’s resort wear because they carry Lilly Pulitzer. So after picking up a few Christmas gifts and of course the tote with purchase we made our way back over to the wilderness lodge for a well disserved nights sleep.
It would be around this time that we realize the colds we came from Massachusetts with were not going to be going away any time soon. It was a long night in that room, and we learned that the resort napkins can function as a decent tissue!

The photobucket images are too big. i will fix it for future posts!
