OK, not quite a wedding . . .

Wewill be in Disney next May and would really like to have a commitment ceremony while we are there. We have so much to celebrate after 15 years together. Unfortunately, Disney doesn't do same-sex celebrations of any sort. Does anyone know of somewhere close by where hold a small simple ceremony? If we decide to sort of "do-it-yourself," is there a way to hire a photographer on Disney property?

Any help would really be appreciated.

Honestly, I think the only way you could have a same-sex ceremony on Disney property is to locate an officiant to perform it (and none of Disney's recommended oficiants would do it, otherwise Disney will refuse them back on property) and have something in your room.

As for off property, you could call around to many of the local resort/conference centers (Gaylord Palms comes to mind) and see if any of them will allow for that type of ceremony on property.

I hope you can find something that will work for you and hope you have another 15 years together! It's really a shame that there are so many problems with same-sex marriages, as they seem for the most part to be some of the most stable and long lasting relationships out there! I commend you on your commitment to each other!

I don't know if anyone has ever checked, but have you called Just Marry about something at Swan or Dolphin? I don't know their requirements, but they may be able to help and then you are still at Disney.

Regardless of who you are and what you are doing, you can contact Disney Photographic Services and make arrangements for a "family" photo session. There may be limitations on what you can wear (casual clothes vs. formal attire) but they will do photo sessions for everyone.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think we may have found an officiant, and the room is a great idea. I will also check at the Swan/Dolphin.

Good luck to you!

My partner and I are having a union at home, then honeymooning at Disney. After hearing about this, I think we made the best choice for us.

However, we are doing some "special" things. Number 1, we're going to make PS for breakfast at MK as early as possible. This way, we can get some pics of us in front of the castle (maybe even one of the photo CM's) without a whole lot of people around.

You can do things, it just takes some planning.
