I love disney....we are going there for our vacation in Dec. However I laugh everytime the commerical for Univerasal Studios comes on the tv.

Its a little girl standing there talking..she says "If I see one more princess Im going to hurl".

hahahha too funny! :rotfl2:

The only thing I thought was dumb about that commercial is when the kid says something about not going to bed at 7pm. I found that odd since during our upcoming trip, the universal parks both close a couple hours earlier than MK and Epcot.

Otherwise, I think it's a funny commercial and I don't get why some of the Disney fans seem to be offended by it. I'm the biggest Disney nut I know and it just seems like friendly competition to me.

but he's jumping into the pool at the Hard Rock, which stays open to 11 generally. semantics.

It just seemed like how late you could keep having fun would be one area where Disney would have the edge. Parks are open later and the pools are open just as late.

the whole theme of the commercial is that your kids are older, and looking for something more, something more intense. (I''m not 8, I'm 8 and a half".) it's not an attack on WDW pool or park hours. one of the taglines is "your family has moved on, shouldn't your vacation?"

Don't think I'm one of those easily offended disney nuts. I wasn't complaining about the commercial. I thought it was great.
It just seems like most of the points they make are basically poking fun at Disney as being more childish, and the comment about bedtimes didn't seem to fit since there seems to be more to do for kids at Disney after 7 pm.

Dont forget citywalk. Our boys (10 at the time) just loved citywalk at night. Its not the same as downtown disney, I mean in the feel of it anyway. They thought it cool to be out at night and see the street shows (I remember there was beetleguese and some kind of dancing shows and acrobatics). They also liked going in the stores and getting stuff from the vendors. It is esp. good if you are staying on-site and you can just stroll around and look at the lights in the cooler evening air.

I completely agree with you, Linda. Last fall, I went to both WDW and Universal with two teenagers -- as well as my mother in her 50s -- and they much preferred City to DTD. At DTD, everything was geared towards Disney merchandise -- except that groovy Lego store. The restaurants were mediocre, as well. None of the clubs appealed to them, considering they'd have to pay to get in and are too young to drink.

City has a nightclub feel even if you don't go in the clubs. There's also lots of stores with way cool stuff that aren't so "theme park" related. And the restaurants are all so yummy!

Don't get me wrong; I love Disney, but I think for nightlife, no matter what the age, City has DTD beat hands down.

at least it's not just me. Citywalk has a definate feeling to it, excitement... electricity. DTD has nothing like that, it's an outdoor shopping mall.

The pools at the Disney hotels are open to 11 and beyond. The commercials would have been better off not mentioning times, since on average WDW has parks open later than Universal for any given year.

I love that commercial too! That's also my favorite line "I was gonna hurl!" Kinda fitting that she's standing in front of the Hulk, who I'm sure has seen a lot of hurling over the years.

Does anyone know where I can find that commerical online? I need it for a school project.
