commercials at Disney Store

Does anyone have a favorite in-store commercial from TDS? You know, the ones on the big video board in the back? They always put me in the Disney frame of mind (or they did till the shut down the store at our local mall...).

My favorite is the one in black and white, in a setting from many years ago. A couple are putting their child to bed, and wondering what their son will be when he grows up, and speculating on his dreams as he sleeps. As the father turns out the light, he says "Goodnight, Walt," and you realize its the Man himself as a kid.

It blew me away. Pure chills. I haven't seen it for months, and I still can't stop thinking about it.

Oh, the glass slipper one....it makes me cry every time. I was in the Disney store and when it came on, my DD (16) starts nugging me and saying look it's on. Well as the tears start filling my eyes, I glance down to see one of the ladies who works there sobbing as bad as I am. Our tears turned to laughter as we realized we were not alone in our emotions

We have been friends ever since. You're right Dan they do know how to touch us

She was crying because that ad was on the laser disk again!

While I am just kidding, I am serious about the fact that some of these ads are on consecutive disks, used three or four months in a row. When the Lizzie Maguire movie was about to be released, they had a "video" clip of the song she sings, "Why Not?" I loved this song - the tune and words were so catchy! When was that movie released? march? april? Well, it's still on our laser disk and I am so sick of it. I worked a 5 1/2 hour shift last week and heard it about 6 or 7 times.

Don't get me wrong, some of these clips are great ~ the "young walt" one, the couple in bed with the DH using his Donald Duck voice, the father that goes overseas and finds his son's Pooh in his luggage (that's my favorite). But we get sick of them after awhile.

I am not a fan of any of the commercials at TDS. I long for the days that they had the songs from the movies!
