Can you please tell me your thoughts on the white wall veranda and if you would stay in one again?

I have stayed in white wall verandahs several times on both the Magic and Wonder. You don't mention which ship you are asking about. the white wall verandahs are very different from Magic/Wonder to Dream/Fantasy.

The Magic/Wonder have a full white wall. Depending on how tall you are it will come up to somewhere on your torso. On the Dream/Fantasy the white wall only comes up to your shins with plexi glass above that.

We have no issue with getting a white wall verandah and would do it again. Here is a pic of the white wall verandah on the Magic/Wonder. They are all aft of the Naviagator verandahs and are indicated by an * on the Deck Plan. Some verandahs are deeper than other due to the curve of the ship near the aft area.

Thanks MMouse37 - did you mind not being able to see the ocean when inside the stateroom? (or) Do you have to go out unto the veranda to see the ocean

We are far back enough that we have a veranda that looks to be about twice the normal size.

Sailed on the 5th deck of the Magic, could not really see over the white wall while seated on the deck chairs.
@Little Doe , we could see the ocean on the horizon from the room.

We could see the ocean fine from the cabin (not when laying down thought). It really was not that big of a deal to us that we could not see the ocean while seated. We liked the extra room out there and often would just stand by the railing if we wanted to actually look down and out to the ocean.

Some can't stand those verandahs but for us it was no big deal. I could see if you had small kids and had to keep lifting them up if they wanted to see that it would be a pain, but otherwise it was OK.

Does anyone know if the dividers open between white wall verandahs on the Magic?

Thanks so much for the help. We have the furtherest aft white wall veranda ( not one of the assisted ones) on Deck 5. For $400 more we could have a regular veranda on the Panama Canal trip. We do have a very deep veranda about twice the size of the normal ones it looks like on the deck plans). Just wondering if we should keep or change.

We had the one in Alaska where it is 1/2 plexi, 1/2 whitewall (diagonal). It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't particularly book it again.

FWIW... it was cabin 8594 on the Wonder. It was priced as a full whitewall veranda, so we got a little pixie dust.

DH and I like to sit out on the verandah and read. When we had a solid white-wall and we looked up from our books, all we saw was a solid wall. I really prefer to see through the Plexiglas. When I'm lying on the bed and look out, it's fun to see the ocean instead of that solid wall. If you plan to stand at the rail most of the time, then the solid wall won't matter.

We are fine with the white wall verandas, in fact our upcoming cruise is a stateroom with a white wall veranda. But we are a taller and can see over the rail when sitting. Didn't bother me that I couldn't see through it when in the stateroom. Because when we were in the stateroom we were normally out on the veranda. That is why we book a stateroom with a veranda, we use it a lot.
