Comments about war from a child.

I work in a nursery with children aged 3 to 5 years old. Today I was sitting with a group of children while they were having their snack. One of the girls who has just turned 5 mentioned that her Uncle is in the army and he is away from home, she went on to say ,"The war has started now". She told me she had seen buildings on fire and asked "how do they do that?" She then went on to talk about how the man on the news had to put a thing on his face. I asked her if it was a mask and she said, "Yes, it was a mask because there was gas in the air, I just wanted to step into the tv and bring the man and my uncle back home".

I didn't know what to say to her, my eyes were filling up by this point, my heart just went out to her.
