Had lunch at Kona Cafe on Saturday. Had my usual Pan-Asian pasta for an entree, which was good. However had the Kona salad as a first course and I absolutely loved it. I loved how the nuts and blue cheese balanced out the tartness of the vingarette dressing. I helped that the blue chees were in small crubbles so is wasn't overpowering.

Really wasn't planning on having dinner Saturday night, but stopped at the bar at bluezoo for a glass of wine. Got in the mood for something light so ordered the Tuna Tartare. It was sushi tuna in small dice over rock shrimp which must have been lighty dusted with flour and then fried. This served timabale style with a thinly sliced cucumber slice holding it all together. Very good. I then ordered some oyters on the half shell. they had 6 or 7 different varities. I ordered four different kinds of oysters, my gawd they great and very fresh. Unfortunately I didn't think to write down what kind they were. I definitely want eat a full meal then now.

The one menu item that I make an absolute point of having when down at WDW is the Beef Teriyaki Salad at Kona. It is an excellent meal, with small medium done bits of Teriyaki beef in this salad in a shell that the lettuce literally melts in your mouth.

Kona Cafe is awesome for lunch! We ate there by accident in May (we had a b-fast PS but had transportation issues and were too late) and it was great.

I had the chicken sandwich and it was very yummy... and I had a Kiddie Kone of course :rotfl2:

The oysters at the Zoo--large??
These days when we get oysters, they seem so small. last time we got Oysters you could have easily fit 3 or 4 into a tablespoon. Pretty sad...
Trust these were better.

Most of the oysters were comparable to the ubiqutious apaloachicola oysters found in raw bars all over Florida. There was one type that was a little smaller but I think it was inherant to the species. All of the oysters were plump and very fresh.

I love Kona for lunch. It's pretty much a must do for us. I hope to try Blue Zoo in Dec. That tuna timbale sounds delish!

Thanks for the reviews! Kona Cafe is one of our favorite places for lunch at WDW. I'm looking forward to trying Blue Zoo on our next trip. Glad to hear you enjoyed it! :)

Kona would be a nice break from the parks for lunch.

And B-Zoo sounds great for dinner.

Thanks for the write up!
