Has anyone else been collecting these? I've been gathering them up since 2000 and have a few doubles in the loose change we have accumulated over the years. Of the ones that have been released ( 5 per year since 1999, and in the order that each state joined the Union) I need Maine and Illinois to bring me up to date. Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas and West Virginia are being released this year, along with California which I managed to get last month. If anyone is willing to look through their old change to see if they have either or both of Maine and Illinois, or if anyone who is travelling later this year would kindly keep an eye out for any of those mentioned, I'd be extremely grateful. I'm also willing to pay any postal costs involved.

Cheers!!

Hi,
I'm collecting the State quarters too. I just checked through my "spares" but haven't got what looking for, sorry. I picked up a nice display board for them on one trip and it has 2 spaces for each coin as they are minted in Denver and Philadelphia and they have a small d or p on the "heads" side to show which mint the came from. We are planning to go to the USA again next month so if I pick up the coins your looking for I'll let you know.

Mick.

Hi!
my dd and ds collected these as well.
We'll have a look to see if we have any spares. :flower:

Thanks guys. Let me know if I can help with any you may be missing.

I've been collecting these for a few years as well. A friend of mine is collecting two sets for his two children - it's obviously quite popular !

I've just checked through all our change from our trip. I had never paid much attention to what was actually on these coins - it's never in my purse long enough!!!! LOL

Sorry John, no Maine or Illinois ones there!

I've been collecting these also, i go in a couple of days and will keep a look out for the coins you require.

A tip to get them:
Go to a drinks machine in your hotel.
put in $1.50 or how much the drink is and then press coin release button.
Hey presto you get 6 new coins back and hopefully the ones you want. (my wife calls this 'playing the Coke Machine'

Happy coin hunting
