We are planning a trip to Europe in July and have decided to spend 2 days at Disneyland Paris. Where is the best place to get tickets? Also, any recommendations for hotels for a family of 5? At Disney World we usually stay on property at the values, but on property there seems expensive.

At DLP the price for the onsite hotels includes breakfast and tickets for every day you are there (so if you are there 2 nights you will get 3 days tickets) so often it doesn't seem as expensive when you would have to add tickets for other hotels.
You can book on any country's site as well as there are often better deals on for other countries.
Saying that most rooms on site only sleep 4 unless one of you is under 3 yrs of age. There are some family rooms but these are often more expensive.
You could look at Explorers hotel which is just off site and one of Disneys partner hotels as this has rooms for 4 plus a 'crew room' can be added giving extra beds/space.

Try this link to the official DLP ticket site, but intended for a French audience:

http://idf-parc.disneylandparis.fr/billets/index.html

Note that when you check out, it will ask for an address, but will not allow you to change the country from FRANCE. Per advice I've read on this board, this address isn't used for anything. In fact, I just bought my tickets this morning, and got them immediately via email.

Before you buy 2-day tickets on that site, price out buying two 1-day tickets instead. It may be cheaper! Depending on which days of the week you're going (click on the little "i" button), you may get cheap 1-day tickets. If it were me, I'd buy each person a 1-day 2-park ticket and a 1-day 1-park ticket, with the intention of spending most of the time at Disneyland Park, but 1/2 day or so at WDS. That combination will likely be cheaper than 2-day 2-park tickets.

Check the archives of this board for messages about buying from the French site. Apparently it's perfectly kosher.

I bought tickets off Expedia actually. I had used my DVC points to stay on property so I didn't have tickets built in to my package so I bought them off Expedia before we left, printed the voucher, and redeemed at guest services. I like to "pre pay" for everything before I get to places.
