Coming attractions

Greetings Dis Boards community! I'd like to share a Vacation planning tip:


To get excited for our upcoming trip we used our video camera and editing software to make "coming attractions" for our Disney vacation. We invented this whole story of a movie called Walt Disney World the Vacation and used some pictures and video from our collection and other sites around the web to make movie trailers to help us get geared up for the trip. It was really fun and I encourage those of you with the capabilities to give it a try!

Its really pretty easy as well. Just find some music and then add pictures. You can even do it in Windows Movie Maker ( I use sony vegas movie studio).

Its been fun making some of different themes like an adventure scene where I used pictures from the jungle cruise, pirates and the tiki room. I also made a western theme where the "settlers" were looking for a place to settle out west (with quaint, quiet pics from frontier land) then the music got exciting and they sttlers found out about that there was no settling down in the wild west (using movie clips from Splash Mountain and Big Thunder)!

Anyway you can post the movies on youtube and your grand gathering can check it out, we found it very fun and even when there wasn't a new trailer to watch we would sit around and watch the old ones.

What a great idea! Be sure to take lots of pictures and video while you're there too. I edited our video and pictures to go with different disney songs and put them on DVDs. I sent one to my brother after our trip and gave one to my mom and now we're all in the mood to go back again. The kids love to watch themselves on TV!
