Apparently this project was announced in February, but I'm just learning about it. The Grand Orlando Resort at Celebration is being renovated and will become a Delta Hotels by Marriott property. The press release says Fall 2018, but the Marriott website says March 2019.
This hotel used to be a Radisson before it dropped that affiliation and went independent. Typically when that happens, it's because the owners didn't meet the minimum requirements to stay in the chain. Based on Trip Advisor reviews, that is probably what happened.
Hopefully, the renovation will significantly improve the quality. As off-site hotels go, it's not a bad location. It's near the intersection of Interstate 4 and 192 (W Irlo Bronson Hwy) but far enough away from those roads to avoid traffic noise.
