Hi everyone,
Can anyone suggest a nice kids shoe that isn't a sneaker or a croc? I'm looking for something for my girls (6 & 8) that would look cute with a dress. We are going to Europe & Disney this summer and I need to pack something (in addition to sneakers) that can be worn to nicer dinners but still be used for touring.
Thanks!

What about the mary jane-style crocs? They also have some that look like dress ballet flats. I don't love the look of the regular crocs, but the flats aren't so hard on the eyes.

I bought my self and our daughter some Teva sandals for our trip last year. They aren't dressy but they defiantly looked better with her dresses than sneakers.

we have mommy & me TOMS and Sperry topsiders - both go with sundresses etc. The TOMs are wear and go but the Sperrys do need breaking in first. DD also has Keen sandals, Stride Rite Sandals and we like Keds, even though those are a sneaker some of them you can dress up, they have so many designers and patterns now. :o I kinda love shoes LOL

Ok, my go to shoes for the kids are Keens. Hands down the best shoe ever conceived for kids. I buy each kid a new pair every summer. They are super comfy hiking sandals. I own a pair myself and have to say their are like slippers. They are breathable, anti-bacterial, waterproof and come in a variety of colours. I especially love that they have a protected toe so the kids can run around and not hurt their toes. If they get mud or dirt, you can throw them in the wash and let them dry in the sun. We have packed them on all our trips around the world including WDW, Florida, and most of Europe. Hope that helps!

Definitely Keens. But they have different feels/fits so have your kids try them on- I wouldn't order online.

If you have a Costco we bought the Keen knockoffs that Costco sells. They're $10 and look exactly the same. The kids wear them to school and their only complaint is that mulch gets in the shoes (which would happen on real keens too).

Hoy sweatheart sandals. Comfortable out of the box and cute. My daughter has been wearing them for 5 years.

My kids never had any problems with Land's End sandals, and they wore the sport style and the dressy style.

I have to second the Teva and Keen recommendations. I love my Keen sandals, but my boys complained about theirs -- the rep at the shoe store said they fit a (slightly) wider foot (and so did not fit well on my boys) so we stick with Tevas now.The closed toe sandal is what they wear almost exclusively all summer, dressed up or down.

Edited to add: the Teva sandals are also quick dry, and I've had to run the same pair through the washing machine twice so far this spring and they still look great.

Our family also loves Keens. Great, comfy shoe that drys quickly and breathes well.

It's a bit painful to have to buy new ones every year for the kids, but well worth it. :)

My DD and I both wear Bernie Mevs. They come in kids and adult sizes. We always get compliments on them and we can walk in them all day and our feet don't get tired. They come in lots of colors. The comfi is the one we like best for the parks. Skechers makes a knock off, but is not as comfortable and definitely is not the same.

What about the mary jane-style crocs? They also have some that look like dress ballet flats. I don't love the look of the regular crocs, but the flats aren't so hard on the eyes.

This is what I got myself and our girls for Disney- they looked cute in a dress, did not cause a blister and stood up to the rain showers that are common.

We may get Keens this next time only because Sept will be hotter/sweaty feet.
I for one never wear tennis shoes- they are uncomfortable.
