I've been reading alot about those "heavenly beds" at the Swan & Dolphin. They sound so comfy. I'm just hoping the beds at POR and the POLY are at least "almost" as comfy as the heavenly ones. We stayed at a place in Newport Rhode Island called Castle Hill Inn and that was the absolute only place I've ever stayed that their beds were as comfortable if not "more" comfortable than my bed at home. I had the 1st ever good nights sleep while away from home. If the beds are too firm I toss and I turn and I end up with about 4 or 5 hours of broken sleep at best. I just hate that part about being away from home. I have an all foam thick cushiony matteress ( and not one of those horrible nasa foam things!) with everything down, pillows comforters etc. I melt into my bed every night and I sleep tight.
Does anyone know if either of these resorts can provide you with "down" pillows? If not I'll be packing my own. Are the beds at either resort at least kind of soft and cushiony? I sure hope so:( I really want to be able to get a good nights sleep after a long day in the parks!

The only soft & cushy beds on WDW property I ever felt were the Swan & Dolphin Heavenly Beds - The others tend more to the firm side. You can request down pillows at some of the deluxe resorts. A friend of mine did that on a trip to WL in 2001. I don't know how many resorts do that or if they still do it....
I'd call the resort & ask.

At the Polynesian, there is usually a combination of Down and hypoallergenic pillows in the room. If you prefer all of one kind, I'd note it on your reservation and/or call and ask housekeeping when you get there. The combination works well for my family.

I love the Polynesian mattresses. Very comfy...firm enough without being like a board. However they are not pillowtop mattresses unless that is a change since July. We did see pillowtop mattresses being delivered to the GF in July. Don't know if all rooms have them though?

Hi,

We find the beds at the Disney Deluxe resorts to be fine. The beds at the Dolphin are just great. We are there right now infact. The only bed at WDW that we were not able to sleep on was this past Memorial Day weekend at CSR. But, I believe this had more to do with the size of the beds, moderates only have full size beds, and no the bed itself. We are usued to sleeping on at least a queen and when we travel even a king. We had a king bed here at the Dolphin.

Moderates do have king size beds. We just returned from 8 nights at CSR. We had a king size bed and thought it was extremely comfortable. Last year we stayed at CBR, also with a king size bed.

They do have king sized beds but I believe you are not garenteed a king sized bed. I believe the category is water view/king bed room.
