We are looking at a DVC Studio at BCV for October 2008. We are a party of three (DH, DS10 and myself). In the past we have stayed at rooms at WL, YC, AKL deluxe. Is the studio about the same size as these rooms? The 1 bdroom is twice as many points and we are trying to figure out if we really need it? The only thing we are thinking, which would be the same for both, is how much of a pain it is to pull out the sleeper couch ... is this easy to do? And, is it comfortable to sleep on?

You'll get one queen sized bed and one double sized sleeper sofa. Not so much a pain to pull it out and put it back together each morning if you want to be able to sit on the sofa during the day.

You'll be giving up the jacuzzi tub, full kitchen, washer and dryer, king sized bed, second TV, privacy, separate shower.

Thanks Deb and Bill -- I'm just wondering out loud (on disboards) that having never had those things and just being used to the traditional hotel rooms at WL, YC, AKL ... if we will miss those things since we have never had them -- especially if we buy the Dining Plan. As my DH says I can pay for regular housekeeping and the dining plan with a studio and still come out ahead (according to him)... since the one bedroom is twice the points.

The best thing about a points stay is the lack of housekeeping. No one knocking on the door, coming into the room except every four days. And then it could be very limited - just towels and trash every 8 days.

We make our bed at home and have no problem putting it together in the morning before we head out.

We have had no problems at the Studios at BCV and SSR so far.

DD13 sleeps on the pullouts and says they are fine. We did buy her a twin Blowup bed to take as she will be taking a friend on our trips from now on. This way they can still have plenty of room but not have to sleep together if they choose not to. We will see how that works on our next 2 week trip

As for HK we do enjoy them not coming in as much and just get an extra set of towels then for a week long stay get an extra T&T so they are in every other day to swap out our towels.
This is only if your using your own points or renting points. If you are getting it through CRO then you get regular HK everyday.

Have fun we loved the BCV on our last stay.

I think you'll find that the BCV studio will be bigger than your room at the Wilderness Lodge...Probably about the same size as your room at the Yacht Club providing you had standard rooms at those resorts...Not sure about the AK deluxe room...With the sleeper sofa folded up, it should seem even bigger yet...We love the Beach Club! Hope you enjoy your trip.

We're a family of 3 too, we moved from staying in standard rooms at BC and YC to Studios at BCV with no major inconvenience. You will find you have slightly less space though because of the kitchenette.
