Comfortable dress in WDW

Comfort is the name of the game for me while at Disney World. I bought 2 new pairs of shoes and broke them in before we left and I didn't have any problems while there.

I wore T's and shorts...this isn't the best look for me but I wasn't back at home trying to look good in the neightborhood! LOL! I wouldn't enjoy my vacation if I was a fashion plate but hot. In fact, my dd and I saw a woman one evening dressed like she was stepping out of Vogue. Unbelievable. She was with her boyfriend and they were strolling around--she couldn't have gone on any rides dressed like that.

I love watching What Not to Wear on TLC but I think Disney is the one place that no one should worry about how they look. I certainly didn't make any judgments about what anyone was wearing (except that one woman--she was so obvious); in fact, I didn't even think about it while we were there.

My college dd didn't even wear makeup (and neither did I). I have to admit I did get a cute haircut before we left! LOL

I totally agree!! When I'm at WDW...its shorts, capris, and T-shirts for me with comfortable shoes. In fact, I minimize my getting ready schedule as much as possible so as to spend more time in the parks, etc. I bearly wear any make-up, and the hair is pretty much in a pony tail. I do not understand how women wear heels in parks!!

When i went to WDW i loved it, but i dressed comfortable. Except that i wore flips-flops and i got blisters! Then i decided to where my sneackers the next day but i noticed i forgot to pack them! So i had to go get some new shoes. The didn't have backs though.

I totally agree I never ever ever wear sneakers except at the gym I dont even wear them to the gym only inside and I would never wear them with shorts except at Disney I buy a new pair a few weeks before and break them in at the gym and then I am good to go for Disney. I went last year with a friend who hates her legs and refused to wear shorts and she was miserable half the time becaue she was so hot.

Disney is made to be fun. It is not a dress up party or contest. It doesnt matter what one person looks like. I dont really even pay attention to people and I dont care what they say about me. Honestly, I am there to have a good time with the family. You know.

but I want to show off & treasure & display the pcitures, and really, I don't want to be self concious about the pcitures....So I want BOTH

I'm thinking shorts and tanks and ankle shoes. Some makeup. Ponytail is a neccessty even tho I don't like how it looks.

I want both...you can be comfortable and still look good.

I agree with the last post . . . I want comfort, but I also don't want to hide when we get the pictures developed

Fashion can be comfortable too! I know that I'll want to share my pictures w/ family and friends and also want to look back at them in the future, and I would like to do so w/ out looking like a slob. Not saying that being comfortable looking like a slob, but sometimes it can appear that way. No, WDW is not a runway for the hotest trends or looks, but it's OK to look good (and feel good about yourself).

I totally agree with the picture thing...that's what I think about!
I have some pics where I'm like "ugh... i look like a..." i won't say what! lol
My hair is messy, i hate what i'm wearing... yeah, it was one of those days with a ponytail, less make-up (probably none or just some cover over my pimples!) and very comfy clothes...not very appealing but comfy.
Anyhow... my thoughts on this

I agree that you can be comfortable and still look presentable. I always wear sneakers in the parks and insist on them for the rest of the family - no crankies from feet hurting! We also wear shorts and tee shirts. I'm not there for a fashion contest, but I feel the same way about life in general! I wear my hair in a ponytail when it's hot and put on little, if any, makeup. I usually get a nice tan even with sunscreen so it alleviates the need for makeup.

I will be honest and say that I do notice how other people are dressed when it's outrageous. I mean girls in skirts that barely cover their hoo-hoo's coupled with a pair of heels or people wearing clothes that clearly don't fit them - no matter what size they are, or people wearing dirty, torn clothes. Pride in your appearance is a lot more than makeup and being thin or whatever your standard of beauty is.

I dress comfortably but still try to look nice. I can't have a good time if I don't feel good about the way I look. I would actually be very uncomfortable in a t-shirt, no make-up and a ponytail. I usually wear shorts, a cute top, and sandals. I do my makeup every morning and since I look horrid in a ponytail I fix my hair in a casual-looking updo. Even though it takes me a couple of hours to get ready in the morning it doesn't cut into park time because I just get up earlier, then I'm good to go for the day. This is just me, though, and what I'm comfortable with. I really don't pay too much attention to what other people do unless it's really outrageous. Like the guy dressed in a black trenchcoat, hat, and boots when it's 80+ degrees outside. What's up with that?
