i know several readers have made reservations for comfort suites maingate east through the choicehotels.com website as i did, because of their rate guarantee. just a heads up that you should definitely confirm your reservation with the hotel itself before you leave. i just tried and they didn't have my reservation in their system even though it was in choicehotels system (made over a month ago) - and the hotel clerk said they were sold out for the night of my arrival (dec 3). fortunately i was able to call choicehotels and speak to a superviser, and he called the hotel directly and was able to put the reservation through at the original rate for me.

always a good idea to confirm internet reservations with the hotel directly before you leave, but i'd say particularly so in this case.

When I was looking into CSMGE on TripAdvisor there were several negative comments about the hotel not honouring reservations.

yeah i saw the one review about them sending a no-smoking reservation to a smoking room, too, when they were full. hotel told me this morning that the low choicehotel rate i obtained last month ($48.15 night) and non-smoking were locked in for late arrival, so considering that otherwise the reviews of the property itself are among the best in the entire orlando area we'll give it a try.

my backup option in case there was an unresolvable problem was baymont inn kissimmee, which is also a newer (although smaller with smaller rooms) hotel with decent rates, similar breakfast, etc and great reviews another mile east on 192. they still have rooms available for the coming weekend. tripadviser has baymont rated #2 out of 217 hotels in all of kissimmee (csmge is #10).

I just called Comfort Suites Maingate East to confirm my January 5-19 reservation. The reservation agent (Jess) was terrific. My reservation was in their computer, no problem. I had also booked through the Choice Web Site and used the rate guarantee. I got $49.50 per night. The time we are there includes the Disney Marathon and MLK holiday weekend.

Thanks for the reminder to check the reservation. Driving 26+ hours to find we didn't have a hotel would be a "little" upsetting.

We just stayed there about two weeks ago. When I went the hotel was booked so much that I couldnt even make a reservation at choicehotels.com but I booked it through Hotelkingdom or something like that. They did inform me when I called to reconfirm that the Non Smoking is a request not a guarantee. So I was a little worried because the hotel was full. But when we checked in they did give us a nonsmoking room. But I did have to work out with them my rate. I booked through a site that you payed a deposit that was supposed to be deducted from the top when you checked in. So my rate was $61 a night and I paid an $11 deposit so my total left would be $50. But when I checked in I had to have them redue it because they were charging me $55 not a big deal but it was something they did work on and got taken care of with no problems.

i booked from choicehotels.com a month ago but i called today to try a early check in for 12/04....my reservation was in the system and he told me that they will try the request but no guarantee beacause the hotel is sold out to the date. i went last year to CSME and had no problem .
