We we got a smokin hot deal at the Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista the last week of October. five nights for $149.99.
Now my husband is having 2nd thoughts and thinks we should stay on site at one of values. We have always stayed at the values on previous trips - never off site.
This is not our first trip or will it be our last. I'm pretty frugal and figure it's a great way to see if staying off site is worth the extra savings. We will rent a car either way.

So what's your thoughts? The money savings isn't going to make or break us, but my thinking is the more we save the sooner we can come back.

Thoughts?

We are staying there too starting Oct 31st and also got an awesome deal!:cool1: I have never stayed onsite so I don't know what to tell you but we are never in our rooms for very long so why spend 80-100 dollars a night for it? We also rent a car and would even if we stayed on property. I have been checking traveler reviews on tripadvisor.com and most seem real good. I have only seen a few that are negative and most are about things that don't bother me. As long as it's clean and safe I don't have a problem. Tell you hubby to relax and not worry so much, you'll have a great time no matter where you stay it is Disneyworld after all!:thumbsup2

I stayed there a week ago for one night. They are in the process of renovating all the rooms so see if you can get one of those in Oct. Our room was worn, but as usual, was clean and bug-free which is all I care about for that price. The location is great for an off-property hotel and you can't beat the price!!

Super :cool1:
That is what I wanted to hear! We only need clean rooms maybe a pool to dip into after a long day.

And let's face it - it's not like the Value's are all that great. We may miss the bus system.

I figure if by chance we get there and we HATE it we can always cancel and go find a different room. It shouldn't be a problem to find another room in October. ;)

I say go for it. It's not like it is your 1 time in a life vacation. Go save the money and have a good time. Check out Cocoa beach too.

Just an update.

We were happy with this hotel. It was clean and had comfy beds. Our room had recently been renovated. The room did face the freeway - which was a little loud, but we have a sound machine we bring to travel with so it was fine. The pool was perfect for taking a dip in after a long day at the park.

Having a refrigerator and microwave was a great treat.

So for anyone that got the super rate - I think you will be pleased!

We stayed for 5 nights and the bill was around $168. :cool1:

They offered a breakfast buffet for $4.99. We didn't eat it. By the time we got out of our room we headed to the parks. We did have muffins and oatmeal to eat in our room.

One night we ordered dinner to eat by the pool from the hotel and it was just okay. The fries tasted like they were fried in old grease. The hamburger was okay.
There are lots of restaurants to choose from within walking distance.

Thats nice to hear. So what did hubby think, he sounds a lot like my hubby. Is he an offsite convert or will he expect to stay on property next time? We're staying offsite in Feb for the 1st time in something like 11 trips! Hubby isn't very happy about it!

CherylA...just want to point out there's another thread on this forum about this hotel having a $29/night deal through February on travelzoo. Check it out! :thumbsup2

I found that! Thanks. And I booked for 6 nights. I didn't tell my hubby. I have us booked at the new Holiday Inn on Hotel Blvd but thats 72 a night plus $8 parking plus tax. Even if they do open in time, which I actually kind of doubt they will; the Comfort Inn is a MUCH better price. It was a stretch to get him to stay at Holiday Inn! I think once we get to the Comfort Inn he'll really like it. He just doesn't like the unfamiliar!
