has anyones tayed at the comfort inn univeersal its meant to be on i drive but looks like its just off it on the universal bulv road.

Stayed there once like 5-6 years ago but I didn't remember much about the hotel,about a month ago I got it on Hotwire pretty cheap but honestly I hope I don't get it again.Not the worst but of the hotels I've gotten on sites like Hotwire or Travelocity Secret hotels it would rank near the bottom.It's on the north side of Sand lake rd and Universal Blvd.I prefer the southern end of International Drive but I've stayed at other hotels right by this one like the Country Inn and suites and several other good hotels so this is not a bad location,but there were a few things about this hotel I just didn't like.The curtains had some mold on them,the A/C like a lot of hotels I've noticed lately even when you put it on full power on very cold,it just doesn't cool like the way it should,like maybe the hotels can put a cap on how high you can set it.When we drove in a security guard jumped out of a small little booth by the back of the hotel to ask us if we were checking in.I know that might sound good that at least they have a guard but sometimes you have to ask yourself why do they need a guard as the booth looked like something temporary not a normal security gate.I've stayed dozens of times at a Quality Suites that used to be a Comfort Suites on Turkey lake rd next to Dr.Phillips hospital and the parking lot just feels so calm and quiet all the time,while this one just had a different feel to it,like even though it had a guard at night it still felt less safe than that other one which is located in a less busy area.Also at the breakfast,there were a lot of employees working the breakfast area and the breakfast actually had a few more things than I expected,it wasn't great but not too bad.What did have me a bit perplexed was a guy I don't know if he was a manager or what but basically just walking around with a notepad writing things down as he just looked at people eating,it just seemed weird.I'll try and avoid getting this hotel on sites like Hotwire but I would never get it on the regular sites knowing what you're getting before you book.
