I've looked on tripadvisor to get their opinion, but wondering about yours??? Has anyone stayed ar Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista recently? Any comment on the rooms or shuttles?

I was looking for an inexpensive place to stay just for myself for 2 nights to combine with the rest of our trip.

It's fine for a couple of nights. I can't comment on the shuttles, but the rooms were clean and we paid $29 per night--well worth it!

We were there last month for 2 nights before we went to ASSports. It was OK, we had a car so we didnt use their shuttle. I paid $39.95 a night which included a continental breakfast.

I would stay there again for a few nights..

You could not pay me to stay there again. I had stayed there a few years ago and eveything was fine. Checked in for a long weekend last summer and it was HORRIBLE. The first room we were given has exposed wires coming from the wall and a smashed deadbolt. (Looked like someone had broken in). The engineer that came to take a look agreed the room was "dangerous".The next room were were given was filthy! It had "matter" on the walls in the bathroom and what appeared to be blood on the floor. We asked 3 different people (including a manager) to clean the room or atleast vacumn the floor. We were told it would be taken care of and never was. We left!

You could not pay me to stay there again...

In fairness, the Comfort Inn is an economy-class hotel that's usually the price leader in the LBV area. Unfortunately, this often attracts undesirable guests -- e.g. locals looking for a place to "crash" -- literally -- after partying all night at Pleasure Island. Thus, you may have to "preview" several rooms before you find one to your liking.

Personally, I think the Comfort Inn is usually the best value in the entire Disney World vicinity:
-- the location is perfect (easy access to I-4 & Downtown Disney... Palm Parkway, which turns into Turkey Lake Rd., is perfect for accessing Sea World/Universal/I-Drive without the traffic... or go the other way and find yourself via the back entrance of Disney).
-- there are many shops/restaurants within walking distance... the same sidewalk is great for jogging!
-- the hotel has a tremendous amount of security (at the entrance, in the parking lots, patrolling the property)
-- the property is gorgeous (very nice landscaping)
-- the room are fairly large and have been recently refurbished (albeit cheap furnishings)
-- free microwave, fridge and in-room coffee/tea/hot chocolate
-- the pools are nice, with plenty of clean towels
-- shuttles go to the Ticket & Transportation center several times a day, and Epcot/MGM a few times... once daily to Universal/Sea World -- compare this to many other hotels, which have a single shuttle to the TTC.
-- free breakfast (it's OK, not great)... hot breakfast upgrade can be a great deal if you're a family, since kids eat free, otherwise walk/drive to Sizzler's (or elsewhere).
-- The dinner buffet is OK, and priced OK -- but again, a great value if you're traveling with kids (since they eat free). Pricing at the bar (pizza, drinks, etc.) was average... the market was overpriced.
-- pretty flexible on check-in/out times

What I don't like:
-- no hot tub by the pools
-- the I-4 noise can be distracting if you're trying to enjoy the property/pool, but otherwise isn't a big deal

We've stayed several times at the Comfort Inn and it has been fine as a budget base. I've often recommended it. It is very well located close to the parks and plenty of restaurants. Rooms were well appointed and spacious. We always have a car so I can't comment on the shuttles.

Our last stay was in June and it was truly awful. I was shocked how much it had gone downhill since our last visit. We were a party of 4 and were allocated a room with one double bed and one single bed. The room was filthy with fittings broken, basin leaking dirty water onto the floor, lights not working, door not locking properly and dampness from leaky aircon. We found food scraps and half a pizza under a bed, it had not been cleaned properly in a long time with cobwebs and dust everywhere. I am asthmatic and this affected me badly. Not what you want for a 2 week stay after a transatlantic flight.

The front desk and duty manager were very unhelpful, almost rude and refused to move us to another room or help us find another hotel. Eventually they sent a tiny folding bed for my teenage son. Other furniture had to be removed for it to fit in. After a sleepless night we left the next day when our tour operator found us alternative accommodation. There was not even an apology from the hotel when I told them we were checking out.

We will not stay there again and I will not recommend it to anyone else.

I agree with loadsapixiedust! We stayed in May of last year room very basic and grubby ,free breakfast a joke ,bun fight more like!! Cereal in big tubs, small hard doughnuts, bread and jam. that was about it and it was really messy only went once and that was enough. We now stay in The country inn and suites on apopka vineland road next to the Sheraton Safari its a lovely hotel with proper continental breakfast that is kept beautifully clean.Only downside i could see was the swimming pool is very small which although not a problem for us ,might be if you have kids but you are allowed to use the sheraton safari pool which is much bigger with slides etc.We book through wintersunshineholidays.com and got rate of £24 per night per room.

We stayed at the Comfort Suites last weekend and it was fine.

The room we were in had obviously new beds and bed linens. The beds were extremely comfy and had four pillows on each bed.

The room itself was a little dated but otherwise clean and comfortable.

I only was in the lobby once (in a 3 night stay) to check in on the first day. The desk attendant was very friendly and personable. A pleasure to deal with.

I had to call the front desk once when we were not left clean towels. We received our towels within about 15 minutes:thumbsup2

We never had the breakfast(this time) nor used the shuttles.

We have stayed there quite a few times in the past with varying results. Overall we have been satsified with our rooms and the service.

For the price that we paid (29.95 for the first two nights and 39.95 for the third) I think we received good value.

We stayed at the comfort inn in 2001, for our honeymoon....They gave us a bottle of champagne(well sparkling wine, but still it was nice) and two wine glasses. They were waiting for us when we got up to the room. The hotel was generally nice.

The shuttles weren't too bad, but unfortuanatly they didn't really return to the parks in the late afternoon or evening, so if you wanted to go back to the hotel for a rest, you needed to find a new way back to the park. The pool seemed to close if there was lightening in Tampa..lol( I know that is not true, but they did seem to close them very often, even when other pools remained open). The security was great, we ordered a pizza one night, and we had to go the lobby to get it from the guy as they wouldn't let him up. The breakfast did us just fine, we always were snacking anyways. The one main problem that we had, was we would return to the hotel in the late afternon or evening and the room hadn't been made up yet. That happened frequnetly, and was actually frustrating, cause if you wanted to rest, you never knew when the maid was going to come.

Overall we were satisfied with the hotel, and are considering it among others for our next trip.
