Comedy Warehouse?

Please tell me all about the Comedy Warehouse. We are going to be in the world November 26th through December 1st. I was thinking of going to the Warehouse as we have never been. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I am one of the Comedy Warehouse's biggest fans. I think the performers are incredibly talented as every show is different and funny. It's not unusual for me to stay for 3 shows in a row.

It's iffy as to whether its okay for kids or not. It is an improv club and they rely on suggestions from the audience so obviously they have no control over what the patrons will shout out, although they do ask you to keep it family friendly. The earlier shows are fairly safe - as the night goes and people begin drinking you can get some iffy material. Having said that, it is a thousand times 'cleaner' than your typical comedy club. I am planning on bringing my teenage stepdaughters next year for the first time. 8 years is kind of iffy.

each show is about half an hour...with about the same devoted to getting people in, their drink orders, and then exiting them.

We took our DD9 to several of the early (first show of the night) sets. There wasn't any particularly "naughty" content. But she's fairly sophisticated (18 year old brother) and doesn't shock easily. It turned in to her new WDW favorite. I'd never take her to the later shows.

Kind of hard to explain. On the floor immediately in front of the stage are small tables seating two - maybe a dozen of those. Then the room has a pitch to it with multiple levels. On each level is a countertop with barstools. Then a row of barstools against the wall so there are two rows of seating on each level. That way if you're in front you can lean forward on the counter and if you're in back you can lean against the wall. There are maybe 6 (?) levels. There is also a higher section (I guess you could call it a balcony) off to the side again with the two layer seating. I've sat all over - there are really no bad seats but get in line early if you want to sit on the floor.

Or you can use one of the plus options if you purchased them with your MYW ticket.

I would not bring kids to PI.

It's probably actually one of those places that's OK for kids. I've never seen anything TOO risque (not like at Adventurers Club!) and we've seen a fair few shows!

But it is still a club, so it's up to you really. Go for an earlier show if you do take your kids, it's likely to be quieter, less rowdy when people aren't drunk like at later showings!!

in the barstool rows, they fill in all the "front" barstools, then fill in the rows behind them once the front part fills in each row.

We've been to later shows without our DD. At the first show they made a point of asking patrons to keep it family-friendly.

At later shows they made several cracks about parents that bring their kids. I would have felt uncomfortable as a child to be at the later shows.

I am probably in the minority here but I brought my kids to Pleasure Island when they were only 5 and 8.5. This is when they celebrated New Years Eve every night with a small fireworks show and confetti all over the place. I have great video footage of my twin girls dancing among all the confetti. We did not take them into any of the clubs but we did spend some time outside listening to the band on one stage.

Last year when the kids were 11,11, and 14 we took them to PI and Comedy Warehouse and they did fine and had a great time. They were well behaved and I really didn't care what others thought... heck we are on vacation and I know what my kids can handle.

I have very precious memories of our DD at ages 6 and 8 slow-dancing with her daddy in one of the clubs, with a circling disco ball over their heads. It was a very sweet and treasured moment.

This was before all the rehabbing, so I'm not sure what is going on in there now. On our trips, we found the clubs to be completely empty at 7 pm. DD and DH were the ONLY ones on the floor. We would never take a child into a clup after 9 pm. There were as many kids as grownups out on the sidewalk much later in the evening.

Don't know if that' modified with the changes they've made.
