goofy4tink said:Okay, a question for those of you that are more experienced than I at longer waits on the wailist. I have gotten my requests met after being waitlisted for a brief period of time, usually less than a month. But, this time around it doesn't look as though it will happen. I'm at BCV but waitlisted for BWV Nov 30-Dec4. I went on the waitlist in late June. Nothing yet. Anyone have any idea as to when I should just give up hope? At the 30 day mark?
Are you on the automatic-daily waitlist or just wailtlisted for the entire stay?
If you're listed for the entire stay- all of the requested dates will have to become available at once (and you'd have to be at the top iof the waitlist). MS will not "save" dates as they become available towards filling your request.
The auto-daily list will fill each date as it beecomes available- and they won't call to confirm, you'll just be surprised when the confirmation letter arrives. The disadvantage of the auto-daily list is that it's possible that you could end up missing a day in the middle and have to leave. My experience with the auto-daily list is that I have ALWAYS gotten my dates even within a couple of months of arrival (and in early Dec.).
The dynamics of the waitlist seem to be a little more difficult this year, since availability for early December has been very limited for awhile now (unlike past years when there were still options even at this time).
I'd still hold hope that something will open up for you if you're on the auto-daily list, but even the regular list could still come thru.
Good luck!
