Went to an awesome flower show at a great nursery this morning and now I want to plant, plant, plant. Come on spring, get here and stay. :sunny:

Do you have any pictures to share from the flower show?
Spring is around the corner for us here-with my bulbs that are growing and will bloom maybe next month or at the ending of this month. :cool1:

Our apricot tree just started to flower - I've been watching it out our kitchen window while I do the dishes. It's been really windy and rainy here, and there's been snow up in the hills, so everyone is complaining about how cold it is and how late spring is this year. I'm from Minnesota, so I say this is wonderful! :teeth:

Yesterday I got the first of the plants I ordered, but it's pouring rain this morning so I can't get out and put them in the ground. I've got a new lavender plant to go under our sycamore tree with the other two lavenders and 3 rosemary plants. This year I'm going to try growing verbascum - I've never grown it before, but I think it's pretty and I've always wanted to try. I have 6 tiny little plants that came yesterday, and I'm anxious to get them "settled in" and start coaxing them along.

Once again I didn't prune the roses right this year, and it's showing up as the new growth is sprouting. I'm so nervous about these roses - I've never had roses before - so I'm too tentative and cautious in my pruning and they're starting to get all overgrown and out of shape. DH just rolls his eyes at me (he's a CA boy through and through), but I also notice that HE isn't out there pruning them himself!
I miss tulips, hyacinths, crocuses, and lilacs. I miss that excitement and wonder of waiting and watching for the first green tips of the bulbs to pop up and seeing the forsythia burst into yellow blooms each spring. It's hard to feel any of the anticipation of spring when it's been 50's and rainy for the last 4 months. Oh well.

i just bought some bulbs today but I still ahve to wait for our frosty monrings to be over!

I just got a new :rose: Disneyland Rose in the mail from J&P! It's way too cold to put it in the ground. Hopefully next week it'll be a bit warmer. Can't wait to get out and plant :Pinkbounc

I know what you mean. DS and I are READY to put out bedding plants but we were still having 32 degree nights a couple of times this week. I want to scream, "HEY! THIS IS TEXAS YOU KNOW! ITS SUPPOSSED TO BE WARM NOW!" :furious:
Its 60 today so I've been out digging up a plot for my first-ever vegetable garden. But I'm going to hold off on planting till the weather is more predictable. Sigh...

My lilies of the valley are starting to grow! I'm so excited!! These are my favorite flowers, and it just doesn't feel like spring unless I can catch a little of their scent. Lilacs don't do well here, or I'd be planting one to give me that extra boost of spring time smells.

We have pansies, primroses, and English daisies in at our garden center, and I think I'll bring some bulbs in from cold storage to force. It smells so sweet in the greenhouses now!
