Come Back Rate vs. AP Rate

I am just curious if anyone else has found that the Come Back Rate they have is better than the AP Rate offered? We booked Polynesian GV Concierge during our stay last Dec. for a rate of $234 (not inc. tax). The AP Rate is $235! Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the rate I have and the fact that I didn't have to play the waiting game for AP rates enabled me to enjoy the summer not tied to my computer but I really thought AP rates would be more like 45% across the board.

I really am happy for all of you who were also able to get a good rate.

Nope, the comeback rate I have is slightly better than the AP. I thought about calling to make sure my math was right for about two seconds and thought better of it. Not worth the time...also better to let someone else have a good rate too.

My comeback rate at the AKL for Sept is $119, there are no AP rates for Sept, so I guess I am lucky...and happy...

How do you get a come back rate? I was just at the Poly in June...I'd love to get a deal there again.

Please could someone explain what the "come back" rate is.

Last year in October we stayed 2 nights at the AKL during our Florida trip from the UK at a rate of $250 per night (savannah view). This year I'm being quoted a lot more - even with AAA discount. I've got a reservation for 2 nights at the Poly for October this year at $350 (standard garden view room). I'm still undecided whether to go with this as it still seems terribly high.

The comeback rate (code BAQ) was available early this year and expired in March '03. It was a 40% off deal for onsite guests to "come back" before the end of the year. You needed to book your next stay from your room on Disney property. I booked it in February from the GF for my stay at BWI in December. Some guests got literature in their rooms about it, others heard about it from the boards and Mousesavers, but as long as you called from your room before you checked-out, you could get it. HTH!

If staying on disney property in fall/winter of 02/early 03 there were hangers placed on the doors of some rooms. IF you called while ON PROPERTY and gave these codes you could book and a great discount...We received this hanger in 1/03 and had a come back rate for AKL Savannah of $210(this includes taxes etc.)....the FTP was a better deal for us b/c it included the passes (we let our annual expire b/c we will be making less than 1 trip per year from now on). So we cancelled our "Come back rate." Hope this helps explain it for you![

We will be a the Poly Concierge GV November 7-15 and also have a "Come Back" rate of $234 including tax. When I called yesterday, I was quoted $235 but this DIDN'T include any taxes. So, guess I'll stay with what I have!

Hi karenfm - We are also checking into Polynesian GV Concierge on Nov. 7th and leaving again on Nov. 17th (DH just found out that I added some days!) It is our first time staying concierge and I am so excited. I had originally booked a standard GV with the Come Back Rate of $201/night so the AP Rate is still better for the GV rooms. I convinced DH to stay concierge since it is our 20th Anniversary trip. I just hope I don't spoil the kids (or myself) too much. Maybe we will see you there.

I did the checking too and will keep my Come back Rate.

I did however change my parents FTP to AP rates as it will save them over $250. They only needed 13 nights, but the way the FTP had to be booked they had to pay for more. The only thing they lose is the gift. No biggy to any of us.
