What steps do I need to take in order to combine 2 reservations? My son has a 2 bedroom confirmed. I want to put another day on the front of his reservation. TIA

Do you mean he has a membership separate from you and he made the reservation, or that you made a reservation for him using your membership?

If the former, you have two options: (a) transfer to him the points needed for the extra night and then he can modify his reservation to add it; or (b) you make the one night reservation in his name (names in your reservation must match his reservation exactly), and then you and he can contact MS and have it link the reservations, which will avoid having to change rooms.

If the latter, you can just modify the reservation using the online modifcation system to add the extra night.

Sorry was probably not clear on question. So he has his own membership and I have my own. He booked six days. I want to use my membership to arrive a day before he does(because I can) and then link the two reservations . He is driving so if I get there a day before he does the room will be available for whatever time he arrives. This way after driving they do not have to wait around if the room is not ready. Hope that clears things up a little

In order to link a reservation that you made with one that he has made, you will both need to contact MS to request that the reservations are linked as a continuing stay. Just make sure that the lead names on both reservations are the same. The possibility that you will have to move will still exist but they will make every effort not to make you change rooms.

It would be easier if you were able to transfer the points to him and have him add a day to his reservation. Then there would be no question of whether you will have to move. Are your points current UY points or are they banked/borrowed?

They are current UY and we both have the same home resort and same UY. So after I transfer the points what happens to them? Can he bank them as if they were his or does he have to use them by the end of the UY? Sorry for so many questions just dont want this to go off the rails. TIA

I am assuming your points are bankable, meaning they are current years points and are not in there last four months of your UY and the reservation is for the next UY.

If that is the case just transfer them to him. I would call member services ( when your son is around or do a three way call with MS). Have them transfer and rebook your sons reservation at the same time.

Transferred points retain their home resort and UY. As long as you/he are within the banking window for the transferred points' UY, your son could bank them. But if he were to "modify" his reservation to include the night you want to add, the transferred points would be applied to the entire reservation before any current UY points are used.

As long as the points are current UY, you transfer them to him and the. He can use them for the trip.

If he does not use them, he can bank them into the next UY. Because you are different owners, it will count as both his and your one transfer per UY.
