Is it possible to combine points for a stay from more than 1 source? I want a 2BDRM BWV. It requires 386 points. If I get 200 points from 1 person and 186 points from another would I have to check out and then check back again in the same resort? Is it possible to stay in the same room the entire stay?

If you are renting from 2 different DVC members, you will actually have 2 different reservations. You may be able to ask the resort to keep you in the same room (link the two together) when you check in, but you will definitely have to get a 2nd room ID/key when the 2nd reservation begins. The resort will definitely treat it as 2 different reservations- even if they allow you to stay in the same room.

I'd try to find one member to rent your whole stay if possible, but it can work the other way also. This is one of the shortcomings of a rental- there could be some inconvenience with this type of a stay.

Good Luck!

What you can do is make one reservation with the 200 points and another (for remaining days needed) with the 186 and then have the reservations linked; thus as long as it is the same type of room you won't have to move.

One problem though is that you won't be able to mix those points to make the reservation for that one night that might overlap between the points of the two contracts. For example, if say 14 nights in a room cost 386 points total but 7 of those nights need 190 points and 6 need 160 and there is thus one night left where you would need to combine the remaining points from the two contracts to get the total points needed for that night, you won't be able to do it unless there is an official transfer of points from one contract to another so the extra night can be purchased out of one contract. The problem with that is that members will be reluctant to do such a transfer particularly since only one such transfer is allowed by a member per year.

Thanks for your replies. I was hoping to salvage this trip by renting points from 2 people for the dates I need. Alas, logisitically it would be a nightmare. I had no idea I would need a new key/ID for the 2nd set of points rented! Unfortunately, the only time we can go requires 386 points for the 2BDRM BWV and the only offer I had to an inquiry was for more than $10 per point. I have a question for you. When staying with another family in a 2BDRM, do you get 2 room/charge passes? One for each family and sort out charges later?

You can get as many room cards as occupants in the unit. You can specify which cards have charging ability and which do not. Park passes can also be on the cards. Cards are numbered and need to be signed by each individual. With 2 families, you could keep track of the card numbers and track purchases that way or if you are the one renting, only put charges on your card and let them pay in cash for their park expenses. If you are in separate units, then a different charges can be established.

And yet ANOTHER question! When using a Disney Club discount to obtain the Ultimate Park Hopper pass, is this feature added to your room card? Would it be possible to have room cards with separate credit card numbers put on them for the 2 families staying in the same villa?

I believe you can get the DC discount on LOS passes - they will be put on your room key.

You will most likely NOT be able to use two different credit cards for the 2 bedroom unit. We tried to do this in teh past and were unable to. I have read a couple of posts that say it's possible, but we were told no last September.

You can do one of two things - designate the 2nd families room keys as not having charging priviledged. Or let everyone charge; when you get the statement at the end of the stay, all the charges are marked with a room key number, so it will be easy to figuer out which charges belong to who.
