Combining Free Dining Discount with Castmember Resort Discount

Not sure if this is the right place to ask....I know I'm probably getting my hopes up for nothing, butI have a family member who is a castmember. They seem to think it is possible that they could get me the castmember room discount on top of free dining. I'm trying to be patient and wait for them to find out for sure, but thought maybe someone on the DIS might know....Thanks in advance!!!!

I don't think that would be possible. In order to get free dining, you have to pay rack rate for the room and purchase at least a 2 day park ticket. Disney does not allow the stacking of discounts for the anyone else, so I assume it would be the same for CMs .

We are planning to buy 6 day park hoppers. Actually we have done free dining I think 4 times now, and it just occurred to me after all this time that possibly my family member could get me a better deal...just trying to figure things out before I make reservations.

I've read that sometimes CMs get a room discount and discounted dining packages. However only the CM would be able to find all that information for sure.

Thanks! It would be awesome if you are right! I know my best bet is to wait for them to let me know what they find out, but I am dying to make my reservations! I'm so impatient!

My daughter and 3 of her friends went to WDW last spring. One of the girls was a CM. They got a really cheap hotel rate and discounted (a lot) dining packages. The only way it worked though was because the CM stayed in the room with them.

You won't get Free Dining with a Castmember Discount. In fact, castmembers don't always get a discount on the Dining Plan, it's hit or miss.

Yep, had a friend in the college program and discounts only applied if she stayed in the room with the guests. I would be surprised if they can just "get" a discount for you. I think they do have some tickets they can give away, but not the room discount, dining discounts, etc.

My brother is a corporate CM and he receives a bigger discount and perks than the average park CM.

He was absolutely not able to combined his CM discount with free dining. He does get a pretty nice discount at many WDW restaurants though.

He also cannot combined his CM discount with any sale promotions going on in the Disney Store.

The best perk is he can get us into the parks for free as long as he accompanies us!

Thanks for the replies. We have been very lucky over the years to be signed-in to the parks many times, but the past few years I have not wanted to bother them, so we just took advantage of the free dining packages instead. I honestly couldn't imagine being able to add the cm room discount on top of a free dining offer, but they thought it might be possible.....so of course that would be amazing, but I'm not holding my breath.

Parks and Resorts CM's are eligible for room discounts that corporate CM's aren't. I get my CM discount applied along with sale promotions all of the time on disneystore.com.

Thanks for your replies....Well I went ahead and booked with out hearing from my CM family member. Should a miracle occur and they can get me some amazing deal, I have time to change my reservations.

Good idea! We can't always get the discounted dining plan for friends and family.
