Combining 4+7 with pin code

I have a question for the forum that I could not find out if it has been asked/answered already. I know that I can not stack codes/offers on a trip. But if I am staying for 9 nights/10days, could I use the 4+3 offer for the first 7 nights and but then apply my 40% pin code to the last 2 nights? Has anyone done this before and did it cause any unexpected problems with your vacation package?

Thanks for any insight. I love this forum but as you can tell by my number of posts, I have just been lurking. I now need to start contributing. :flower3:

I don't see why you couldn't, but it would mean booking a split-stay and possibly changing rooms.

We have before and are planning to do so on a future trip.

We're staying 10 nights at POP with free dining and then I have a 40% off deluxe pin that I'm using for 2 or 3 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge.

We're fortunate enough to only travel with backpacks and a duffle, and can take the bus and carry the luggage ourselves, but if you have more than that, they'll ask you to have them transport it for you.

It's two seperate reservations and it can get a little tricky if you're adding on the meal plan because the meals expire at checkout, but not the park tickets (if you have any remaining.)

What MissBritt said. And because you would have to book a split stay, there is a good chance you might have to swap rooms... or you could decide to swap resorts. I'd do the 4/3 on the first half of your trip, and then add days to the park tickets to cover all 10 days. The PIN is most likely a room only rate, so use it on the second portion of the trip. You won't be able to add the ddp to the room only, unless tickets are purchased on that portion of the trip (and it's cheaper to add the days to the original ticket than it is to purchase even a 1 day ticket for everyone on the 2nd portion).

Pay oop for the dining on the second half of the trip. You can still do TS meals & such, just make sure you plan for the more expensive ones during your 4/3 if you are adding the DDP to that package.

We've done the split say and didn't have to change rooms. You do have to check in and out though. The meals exprire at midnight of the day you check out not upon checkout. We have used our meal tickets after checkout every time.

Thanks everyone for the information and things to watch out for. I am going to call today and price out the difference and see what it saves me.

Just an update. I called today and modified my reservation. It did take the DDP off the last 2 days but I saved more than I would eat for those 2 days. Thanks for the advice about going OOP for the end of the trip. I am so much more excited now that the price of the trip has dropped. :yay:

Great deal for you! Did you decide to stay in the same resort, or did you do a split stay with the last days being over at another resort? I'd love to hear all of the details!

We are staying at AKL so we decided to just stay put. I thought about heading over to one of the monorail resorts but I really want one of the days at the end of the week to really just relax and enjoy the lodge before leaving. I have an obsessive personality that compels me to "go-go-go" once I start a trip so it will not work if I try to take an "enjoy the lodge" day at the beginning of my stay.

I actually saved 15% from the first quote by doing this split reservation so I could not be happier!

That's great momeeyore! I know every little bit of savings helps us. I'd take an extra 5% off if someone gave it to me! :rotfl:

Make sure they make a note in both ressies to link them together. This way the room assigner knows what is happening and can help make sure you keep the same room.

Actually all unused meals and snacks expire at midnight on your package
reservation checkout date not at checkout.

So if you had extras the last day you could stock up on breakfast for the next day too. Maybe even a lunch if you got a cold sandwich and have a frig.

Great tips! We love the muffins at Main Street Bakery, and grabbed 6 of them to go with snack credits on our way out last year. It made for a yummy breakfast on the road going home.

I strongly second this suggestion!! I am staying one night on a room only 30% PIN, then the rest on the 4/3, the CM told me that he would make sure that the two ressies were linked because "it helps the room assigners plan and they actually prefer you to stay in the same room". I guess it is less for mousekeeping to do, cleaning up vs. check out protocol? Anyway, he also told me to tell the desk at check-in to remind them and ask about staying in the same room.

Thanks for asking that question momeeyore :) It is good to know for future reference :goodvibes

And also, :welcome:
