Combined carry-on wine question

I have not found an answer to this specific question here, so apologies if I've missed it.
DH and I would qualify to bring 4 bottles, however, we prefer to bring a wine box equivalent to 4 bottles. The policy specifies bottles no larger than 750ml, which causes me to think that even though 2 over 21 adults X 2 X 750ml each = same ml as a box might not work for DCL. I don't want to go over the limit, but I do want to have it packaged for my convenient use and storage in our SR.
Anyone have experience with this?

What the prior poster said. Even if you had small 500 ML bottles, you couldn't bring more than 4 of them.
I like this idea. Since we have to bring bottles, we might just bring 4 single sizes less than 750ml.
Thanks for all the confirmations that I was correct in my concern that I could not combine on DCL. (I can on another line, hence my question; but DCL will be so worth it in every other way :sunny:)

I am not saying I am right but I brought on the beer bottle sizes of prosecco and they let me bring them on as my 12 bottles of beer. I have done a it a few times but the last time was in 2019 so they could have changed.
I do love my Costco boxed Pinot Grigio. I just want to sit on my balcony with a glass of wine!!

The answer, per DCL rules, is no. As stated, each adult 21+ is allowed 2 BOTTLES of not more than 750ml. There may be someone that will post here saying "I did it, and they didn't care." And they wouldn't be lying because some screeners are more lax than others. But someone else might have tried the same thing, and because the screener when they boarded wasn't as lax, their box of wine got confiscated. So the safest answer is no, it doesn't fit the guidelines. Take 4 bottles instead.

I have seen them removing boxes of wine at security in the past to store for guests while on their cruise and not let them through with the boxes. You could always buy twist top wine bottles and "re bottle" the wine to bring on board with you. I have had friends who have done that before.

I wish it could be box/bags. I think it's crazy how strict they are, but you can always get more at port stops! Only reason to get off the boat if you are on a Nassau itinerary imo lol

they probably don't want people showing up at dinner with a box of wine under their arm, asking for the servers to keep it chilled :rotfl2:

Yikes - didn't think of that. We just like the way it keeps fresh. If that really is the problem could they specify that only 750ml bottles or smaller can be brought to the dining rooms? This is just my wish...
When we take a box on a different cruise line the wine doesn't leave the cabin - it's for our enjoyment of the balcony.

DCL did not use to limit the alcohol you could bring onboard. I cannot remember quite when they started, but I know I traveled with my mom who loves here boxed wine and we definitely took some aboard in 2013. There were a variety of theories as to why it ended. The official line was concern about people overindulging, but I feel sure some of it was financial.
