If not has anyone tried to just buy 1000 in merchandise and then return it all and ask for it to be placed on a single gc?

Someone posted on the DVC boards that they were unsuccessful in getting a Disney Store to combine their GCs this week.

As to the second question, No. Disney refunds back to the method of payment. If you go in without a receipt, then you risk getting back the lowest sale price of the items. You could lose a bunch of money by attempting this.

You would not get a gift card when you returned merchandise, you would get a merchandise credit which is only good in the Disney Store not in the parks.
