we did it and we ROCK!
pat - i'm sorry to hear your flight was delayed!
all -- it was such a joy to meet you all and chat
i was just telling Lizdotcom on the phone that i dont' think there is one thing about this past weekend or the 1/2 that i would want to change. did everything go smooth and ideally? nah -- but it was genuine and real in all ways
i will try to type up a event report soon -- but in summary. expo day (which i didn't have a camera darn!) included a wonderful lunch with lily and pat (thank you for tolerating the many dog and iditarod stories

) and a rushed evening of packing for my overnighters downtown. race morning i woke up a bit sleepy after getting to bed around 11 p.m., but got some coffee and a bagel and Mom and I headed downtown. pre-race was hectic and crazy as to be expected, much fun in watching the kids mascot chase including evanmom's son (evan of course). The 1/2 started and adrenalin kicked in; my legs hit their usual pace and i ditched Lily, Pat, Craig and Amanda --

LOL b/c i'm not a speed demon but my pace just kicked in. being the non-shy person i usually am by Mile 2 i had a new friend and walking buddy and by Mile 3 we added another to our little crew. Us three gals walked to the end together - where at maybe .25 miles to go I had this crazy urge to run the finish -- and finished strong for me
Dinner that evening was a delight, three trips to the pool/hottub area with my youngest DD and then checked out of the Hampton and sent the fam home. Mom and I checked into the Westin and indulged in a 80 min massage. it was devine! we arrived in our heavenly robes and left to melt into our heavenly beds. Sunday evening was all about rest and relaxation.
today i got up and did 20 mins on the TM and will follow the post-race schedule gladly - it almost seems like a treat to have such short workouts planned.
i feel great, the massage did help i'm sure -- my quads felt 'overworked' yesterday and today my muscles running down my shins are feeling that way. nothing more than any other long walking day over 8 miles
here's a link to my photos -- hope it works! lily i want to snag some of yours for my scrapbook ok?
