Columbus Day Weekend at MK

We're going to be in DW 10/6-10/13. I can't decide between going into MK Sunday, 10/7 or Tuesday, 10/8. The crowd calendars that I have access to aren't helping me decide. I don't feel like paying for TP right now. What would you do? MK on Sunday of Columbus Day weekend or Tuesday, even if I have to leave by 6 for the MNSSHP? Need your friendly advice! Thanks!!

We went Columbus Day weekend last year.

Given the choice, unless you just HAVE to see HEA and/or really like the park at night, I would go to MK on a MNSSHP day 9 times out of 10. Granted, I say that as a rope dropper. We have tended to have a lot of success the morning of a party day. The park just doesn’t “load” quite as quickLy as a normal day, and the “rope drop advantage” feels to me like it lasts longer.

Just my opinion.

We went around the same time last year. We visited MK on a party day and it was great. Also, crowds should be better on the Tuesday after the holiday.

We are going 10/7 - 10/14. I'm an over-planner, so I have looked in to the nuances of this week backwards and forwards. If it's only one or the other, definitely do Tuesday! We will actually be at MK on both of those days - afternoon & evening on Sunday (because we can't NOT do MK on our first day), full day on Tuesday. On Sunday, I'm ONLY counting on doing our 3 FP's and the HEA dessert party because I expect the crowds to be horrendous given no MNSSHP + holiday weekend. If we weren't doing the dessert party, we'd do a dinner ADR instead and expect to stake out a spot quite early for HEA.
