Columbus Day week or following week

We are bringing my niece and SIL next Oct and have never been to Disney we are staying a week at Kidani how busy in the week of Colubus day. Coming in on Tuesday after Columbus day.

We are bringing my niece and SIL next Oct and have never been to Disney we are staying a week at Kidani how busy in the week of Colubus day. Coming in on Tuesday after Columbus day.

We went at that time last year, checking in the Tuesday after Columbus day to avoid the long weekend crowds. The Columbus Day weekend was very rainy and the preliminary forecast for the rest of the week predicted more of the same (it is still hurricane season at that time). But by the time we arrived on Tuesday the forecast had changed and the weather was perfect all week. Crowds were not bad though we did avoid Epcot on the following Saturday night because the Food & Wine festival can be very crowded on weekend evenings. It was a very enjoyable trip.

ETA: In the first half of October the weather can still be very hot and humid. By mid October the humidity starts to ease up quite a bit. We had fantastic weather last year but when you go at that time, you could still get some hot and humid weather, particularly early in your stay.
