Columbus Day week crowds?

We are planning an October trip and had planned to go the second week of the month, Columbus Day is that Monday. Should we expect the crowds to be bad during the holiday weekend only or all throughout the week?

I went that week 3 years ago and I found it to be busy. The weather was fantastic though. I was surprised, it used to be that October was a slow time. Now I go in January it seems to be less crowded however the weather is cooler. Good luck with your planning.

Seems like all of the seasons are crowded lately! Early December used to be famously low crowds, and in 2006 it was busy.

In the October 2008 codes thread, people were discussing that it is usually busy but not horribly crowded in mid-Oct.

We're planning to go to WDW around the same time you are - here's hoping it's not too crowded!
