I have booked a room in oct for the 12th-16th and Im looking at the calander a what do see columbus day right on that monday.

I cant really move this vacation it falls on my 6 days off I get once a month lucky me so I plan disney vacations with those days instead of burning vacations.

So lets have it how ugly is it maybe the tue wed and thur that week will be slow again.

ACK that's when we will be there, too. Staying at HoJos.

On an earlier thread, it said we will miss the invasion of the Utahn's... their Fall break is the following week. Whew! They say THAT gets really bad.

I'd be interested to know if Columbus Day gets awful.

I was there last year at the time (we didn't know it was columbis day) so tue-thur before wasn't busy... fri was kinda pretty busy not bad but sat-tues were BUSY!!!! Another user on here was there the whole week after and said it was really busy that whole week.... who knows maybe you guys will luck out......we'll all hope for you :goodvibes

Pretty sure some AZ school districts have that week off as fall break.

Yep, that's what we encountered last year. We were there the 9th-13th. Right after Columbus Day. We too thought it wouldn't be bad with the holiday over, and Gay Days over. But it seems like there are quite a few different fall breaks, not just Utah. It was pretty crazy!

Well be there that week as well (11th-17th) and I know of 2 other DIS members whos families will be there that week also. I have a feeling its going to be CRAZY. :scared1:

Well, I suppose we could all plan to meet, say at Cafe Orleans around 11 a.m., kick up our feet and eat some pomme frites... having finished 18 rides on a Tues. MM and already having fastpasses for all the other headliners... people watch and chuckle knowingly at all those poor people shuffling past in the crowd who didn't read Hydroguys' tips.... :thumbsup2

Count us in for being there that week as well! I knew to avoid the long-weekend crowds but dang, I wasn't counting on the rest of the week being busy!

I've booked the C-2 Family Parlor Suite at the Desert Inn for the 15th - 19th for $149 a night :thumbsup2 and apparently I really lucked out at that price, so I'm keeping it. We have at least 7 people going, maybe 8 or 9 so I can't even touch that rate for that many people anywhere else.

I think we'll be ok with the crowds for the most part. We'll employ some dodge, duck, dive and...dodge...strategy and stay ahead of the pack. :cool2:

Our school district in southern AZ is back in session on Oct. 13. Not sure about phoenix though. Our district breaks usually around the last week in September and first 2 weeks in October. But we are smaller than most of the AZ districts Yet we are Growing!
