I just did the Mypoints/Columbia House for 3500 pts. Help me feel I got a good deal! I figured:
I got 5 DVD's with no shipping that would have cost me $75.89 at half.com for $16.91. I need to buy 3 more DVD's in the next 2 years. I figured they will cost at least $25 with shipping. Also, I'm selling 3 movies (replaced by DVD's) at Half.com for $6.99. I figured the 3500 pts is approx. worth $25.00 (2 1/2 Walmart GC @ 1400 pts). Are you confused yet?

Breakdown:
Cost of Columbia House: 8 DVD's= $91.91
Mypoints value -$25.00
Movies sold -$ 6.99

Total cost of 8 DVD's: $59.92/$7.49 each

Am I overanalyzing or do I have buyers remorse?

Has anyone else done this deal and how did you like it?

Don't worry about it! It's a good deal, and you can always cancel after you buy the necessary amount. I've been a member and it's fine. My only beef is that they didn't get the Back to the Future Trilogy here in time for Christmas, but that could just be my local PO.

It's a good deal, you did well points-wise, and you'll enjoy your DVDs.

Just remember to answer the negative option each month or you'll get tons of DVDs you don't want.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for the reassurance! I'm working on switching our VHS over to DVD, so I was thinking it wouldn't be too bad! What made me decide to do it was I read you can opt out of the monthly offer online.

I joined a couple of months ago. They have had a number of free shipping offers if you buy 3 at a time. Usually pay full price for 1 (that's all that goes towards your commitment) and 2 more at 40% - 50% off.
