Columbia Harbor House... Is it as good as the menu??

Is it easy to find the way to get upstairs?
Pretty easy. There are at least 2 different staircases. One on each side of the restaurant.

The menu at allears doesn't list dessert...??? Just curious.

I think about the Garden Galley Salad almost as much as I do the filet at Le Cellier!!!! (Maybe not, but I do LOVE this salad!)
Now I'm torn between the tuna sandwich and the GG salad!!! DECISIONS DECISIONS!!!

What is the dressing on the salad like? I didn't see a description of it on allears.

I skipped over the veggie chili for many years (even back when it was served in the bread bowl - yummmmm!). Now, I get the chili every year at least once. It's very spicy (not hot, just spicy) and it is loaded with veggies! I'm not vegetarian, but especially if you know anyone who is, I heartily recommend this! My DH loves fish and he really enjoys their fish & fries. He likes it better than the counter service place at Epcot in the Great Britain section (and he really like that!). Oh, wow...only 2 1/2 weeks and we'll be there! I can almost taste CHH veggie chili, and their clam chowder, and their salad! :woohoo:

They had fresh apple pies when we were there a year ago. It was really good. :)

I've always wanted to eat here but the only thing DH would eat there is the Chicken planks. However, he hates tempura batter and I had always assumed these would be in a tempura batter like Long John Silvers. Can anyone confirm if they are like chicken fingers everywhere else in the world or if these are tempura?

I was just over there and noticed a triple chocolate cake listed. Says the menu on allears was just updated 06/06.

Yea, I want to know this also. :)

I have looked at the ingredient lists for the chicken and fish (and a few other things.) My DD is allergic to eggs and milk. I know the chicken has milk and maybe eggs in it. The fish has neither. Not sure what ingredients are in tempura though. (The cooked chilled chicken in the kids meal does not have milk or eggs in it, but I have to make sure they don't put the cheese touching it.)

You could ask before ordering. There is normally a CM standing around to help with such issues.

The one time we tried to eat there, the fish smell was so overwhelming when I walked in that it made me want to hurl. I couldn't even stay there long enough to order. The menu sounded good but the smell in there... on a hot day it was just awful. Am I just hyper-sensitive to the smell or has anyone else noticed it? Maybe it was a bad day? I turned so green, DH won't even consider letting me back up there again! BTW I do like fish but not things that smell fishy!

I don't think anyone likes fishy smells. If it smells fishy, it isn't good fish. I have had lunch and dinner there many times with no problems. Must of been a bad day. (you weren't pregnant were you? :rotfl: ) I am assmuming you are a female by the Lisa, but I could be wrong. You just never know! :lmao:

This is our favorite CS at the Magic Kingdom too. Fresh, good variety, good prices, overall great restaurant.

It is not tempura like Long John Silver's. It's fried like McDonald's. :) And as for the smell mentioned, I AM super sensitive to fishy smells - can't stand it. And I have never had a problem in CHH. :confused3 Maybe it was just a bad day....

Their chicken fingers ROCK. They are not tempura battered, just breaded like regular chicken fingers. I never noticed a fishy smell there. My Dh and I Love Columbia Harbor House!

We're spending more time in the Magic Kingdom this next trip and we plan to have a counter service meal or two there. The menu of Columbia Harbor House looks great! How is the food? The choices look healthful... how is the taste??

TIA!!!

:sunny:
As far as I'm concerned, CHH is the best counter service at Disney.
We always eat there when we're there.
:thumbsup2
