Just curious to know if there is an elevator at the Columbia Harbor House in the MK. We would llike to eat upstairs if possible, the stairs would not be an option for some in the party. Thank you.

No, unfortunately there is not an elevator.

There is an elevator, but it is backstage. You may need to ask to speak to a manager, but you can be escorted backstage to the elevator. When you are ready to leave, you will again get an escort.

Well, that's nice to know. When we took the Keys to the Kingdom tour we were told there was no elevator when we went there for lunch. They made it clear everyone on the tour needed to be able to climb the stairs. They also said no strollers are allowed upstairs.

other people on Keys to the Kingdom tour have posted being able to use the elevator, so it may have just been that it was not available that day (no staff from the restaurant to take you up or something).
Since it is backstage, they probably discourage use of it.

When I took Keys To The Kingdom Tour--there was no problem using the elevator. I had let them know ahead of time that I would be in my ECV and they were ready for me. The tour guide was great and never made me feel out of place. As a matter of fact, while we were alone in the elevator, he told me that he had really enjoyed my being on the tour because I asked intelligent questions and actually listened to what he was saying!!!

When I took the KTTK tour I also used the elevator to get upstairs. There was a man with the tour who was using an ECV. They asked him if he could walk up the stairs and he said yes so he did the stairs and I did the elevator. I suspect they try to limit the use of the elevator or maybe there's a problem with ECVs using it since it is in a tight space.

Bill, I have an ECV--but it is not a large one. The guide and I fit just fine!

I have taken the Keys to the Kingdom Tour several times and each time have used the elevator at Columbia Harbor House. In my case since I also had sing language interpreters they accompanied me and the Tour Guide directed the rest of the tour.

That's good to know. I love Columbia Harbor House upstairs but we didn't eat there in December because one of us was in an ECV and couldn't manage the stairs. Thanks

That's interesting. I had no idea they had a lift! We usually go and sit in the sectioned off area at the end - but we haven't done the tour since 2011 and I didn't have my arthritis then!

we have used the elevator to go upstairs, but there are a few things to know:

- it is backstage, actually in the entrance of the kitchen
- because it is backstage, you need to find/wait for a CM to accompany you up and back down. This means you might have a wait going up or down.
- the elevator is quite small, so some devices might not fit or be able to manouver to get in and out
- the rest of your party will likely be directed to use the stairs because of the size of the elevator

Thank you for this information! We are going on our trip soon and I had seen a few TR's that talked about the upstairs being so great for the views. I had assumed that there was no elevator and we would miss out.
