Colossal My Points Mess Up...Any Hope?

This is the first time I've had trouble with My Points. I redeemed for a $50 Rainforest Cafe (Landrys) card since I'm taking family out for breakfast during our DLR trip in a couple weeks and the card that arrived today was only for $20 and was for Brinks (On the Border) restaurants ..total mess up:mad: Of course now I don't have a prayer of getting this fixed before we leave, so will have a nice big bill at RFC to look forward to. Has anyone had any success resolving issues with My Points? I do most of my stuff through SR, but do end up with enough MyPoints for a card or so a year (but now I've lost all those points for a $50 card I didn't get :(
 
As long as you ordered the right thing and it's reflected in your account (not saying you made a mistake, but just double check), they should be fairly easy to work with. Keep the letter and card they sent you and shoot them an email explaining the problem. They may not be able to fix it before your trip, but they should either 1) send you a new card of the correct amt. and place (you may or may not have to send the other card back, depends on what they want you to do), or, 2) let you keep the card you got and refund the point difference back to your account so you can get something else later.

They can be slow, so be persistent. I'd really press the point that you needed this for an upcoming trip and see if you can get some kind of expedited resolution out of them. If it's totally their fault, you may be able to get somewhere.
 
Just write them really quick. They've always responded to me fairly quickly (used to be quicker).

This is just a "switcheroo", someone else's card went into your envelope (and your card went into someone else's envelope, and so on and so on). Should be easy enough for them.

Actually, I hope you wrote them before the post!
 
I've not had to work though a conflict with them, but wanted to say good luck. I hope you get it all worked out.
 

I received the same $20 gc today. Did you get in on the deal a few weeks ago where you didn't have to redeem points? It was a mypoints email with an offer to pay $10 for a $20 gc good at Chili's (or Macaroni Grill, Maggiano's or On the Border) - no points spent or earned on the offer. Hopefully that's what it is and your Rainforest Cafe card shows up soon!

That's right. I forgot about that offer, and I took advantage of it as well. Hope mine comes in soon. I plan to use it for a Christmas gift.

Yep..wrote them an email and checked my account and sure enough I should have the $50 Landrys card...I'll keep after them..sheesh.

Holy cow..yes I did!! I forgot about that..sheesh..now I feel pretty darn stooopid :scared1: Now I have an email to them saying they screwed up..yikes.
 
UPDATE..OMG, they do NOT read emails...I got a response to 1st email I sent where I said I had gotten the WRONG CARD..their reply is they mailed out card Sept something and I should get it next week..huh???
Then I sent another email saying I was an idiot and explained that the card I got was probably the 10 for 20 Chilis one and apologized and the reply was STEPS TO TAKE IF YOU THINK YOUR CARD IS UNFUNDED...HUH??!! I do not get these places..they don't READ the emails..I think they just pick a standard reply script, copy/paste and hoe for the best...sheeeeessshh...they did reply quickly though, just not with any connection to what I had actually asked.:confused3

I wonder if they have some sort of computer program that scans for keywords and then sends an automated response based on that???


I know it doesn't matter to the OP now, but I did once have a problem with MyPoints and they were good about fixing it.

I had ordered some Marriott gift certificates (maybe 4 $50 one) for a trip we were taking. I ordered them with plenty of time before our trip (2 months). They hadn't even sent them out about 1 week before the trip!! So I called them and they sent them out overnight or fed ex or something so that I would have them in time for my trip.

I'm glad they fixed it for you..nice to hear..and OK..all is well, I got the RFC card :) That will teach me to have 2 things coming from My Points at tha same time..I had totally forgotten about that Chilis card :)
